The All-Russian Public Organization "Russian Red Cross" is the oldest and largest charitable organization in Russia, celebrating the 155th anniversary of its foundation in 2022. The mission of SRC is to prevent and alleviate the suffering of people. The organization is a national society and is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. In Russia, it operates in 84 regions. The organization operates the SRC Search and Information Center, the Red Cross Academy and the SRC Hospital in Ethiopia. Nearly 100,000 people across the country volunteer for the Russian Red Cross.
On April 23, 2021, a new chairman of the SRC was elected, after which a large-scale reboot of the organization's activities began to improve its effectiveness.

Russian Red Cross agrees with Ethiopian Health Ministry to extend SRC Hospital in Addis Ababa for 25 years
The Hospital of the Russian Red Cross (SRC) - the oldest humanitarian organization in Russia - will continue its work in Ethiopia and will take part in the fight against epidemics and in solving the country's health problems. The decision is recorded in the RSC agreement with the SRC Ministry of Health, signed for 25 years.
The Russian Red Cross Hospital in Ethiopia has been operating since 1898. In 2022, it employs 35 employees from Russia and 184 employees from Ethiopia. About 60 thousand patients undergo treatment in it annually.
The document was signed on December 8, 2022 in Ethiopia with the Minister of State of the country, Dr. Derek Duguma. The agreement regulates the work of the Dejazmach Balchi Hospital in Addis Ababa - the only medical institution of the Russian Red Cross abroad - and determines the procedure for the operation of the institution.
Within the framework of the agreement, the Russian Red Cross undertakes to carry out operational management of the medical institution and promote the sending of highly qualified and experienced medical workers to it.
"The text of the agreement was agreed and finalized during the year with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. We thank for the support of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Russian Embassy in Ethiopia, "said Pavel Savchuk, Chairman of the Russian Red Cross. - For our part, we not only ensure the functioning of the hospital, but also organize training and advanced training of its employees. Next year we plan to invite Russian volunteers and doctors to internships. It is assumed that 20-30 candidates will be able to undergo such internships next year. "
In turn, the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, within the framework of the agreement, provides the hospital with all necessary rights and assists in its operation, in particular in the purchase of medicines, medicines and medical equipment. Also, the department will help in providing the documents necessary for work and residence in the country for the Russian staff of the hospital and their families.

In addition, following a bilateral meeting of the leadership of the Russian Red Cross with the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia, it was decided that the SRC would also participate in the fight against epidemics and other problems related to the country's health care.

In May 2022, the Gagarinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced the former head of the Russian Red Cross (SRC) Raisa Lukuttsov to four years of suspended imprisonment. 2020:12 million rubles of charitable assistance from Lenta
On October 28, 2020, Lenta, one of the retail chains in Russia, summed up the results of a charity event in support of the Russian Red Cross.
In July 2020, the company transferred to organizations more than 12 million rubles received from the sale of goods of its own trademark "Lenta." This money was distributed among 25 regional branches of the Russian Red Cross. Representatives of each of them received 120 protective overalls with hoods, 6,000 medical masks, 3,600 pairs of medical gloves. Reagent kits for detecting antibodies to coronavirus in blood, serum or plasma samples were delivered to 15 regional departments.
The action "In support of the Russian Red Cross" was held from June 1 to 30 in all regions of the trading network's presence. It was attended by all buyers who purchased goods of their own brand "Lenta." The company transferred one ruble from every 100 rubles spent by buyers.
