2024: TAdviser interview with Chief Financial Officer Mikhail Bibnev
The leader of the Russian shipping industry in the segment of river and mixed, river-sea, transportation, Volga Shipping Company has launched a budgeting and management reporting system on the Optimacros platform. The system, called UMA, was developed and implemented by KORUS Consulting Group in a record 7.5 months for a task of this scale.
The creation of UMA was the main part of the global project to form a performance management system within the company. The implementation experience has become indicative not only from the point of view of project management, but also the formation of loyalty to the new system among users. In 2013, the shipping company Volga Shipping Company, one of the leading transport companies, provides cargo transportation needs for 7 republics, 16 industrial regions of Russia. About 200 ships operate in navigation, of which 74 are ships for transporting goods along the rivers of Russia of the Volga-Don type, 10 Project RSD44 ships, 50 pusher tugs, 78 non-self-propelled ships (barges), as well as service, auxiliary and technical fleets.
The shipping company has four branches - fleet maintenance bases: Borskaya, Volzhskaya, Gorodetskaya, Zvenigovskaya. The shipping company is a major shareholder of two shipyards - Borremflot OJSC, Memory of the Paris Commune SRZ OJSC and the main shareholder of Voznesenskaya Fleet Repair and Operation Base OJSC.
According to the results of navigation in 2012, the ships of the Volga Shipping Company transported 7.3 million tons of cargo.
