2023: Oleg Karchev bought SiGMA
On October 19, 2023, it became known that the co-owner of the distributor of IT and household appliances Merlion Oleg Karchev bought the Kamchatka gold mining company Siberian Mining and Metallurgical Alliance (SiGMA). There is no information on the amount of the transaction as of the specified date.
According to Interfax, within the framework of the agreement, Karchev directly and indirectly acquired 100% of the international company Tanalex Investments Limited. This organization in March 2023 was registered in a special administrative region on the territory of Russky Island (Vladivostok). The eponymous firm Tanalex Investments, which has a Cypriot registration, owned a 98.64% stake in SiGMA as of the end of 2022. The co-owners of Tanalex Investments Limited before the transaction were Nikita Leonov (45.72% of the shares), Mikhail Zingarevich (26.35%), Dmitry Filichkin (5.72%), Dmitry Przhibelsky (5.67%) and other individuals.
After the transaction, Karchev made changes to the management staff of the SiGMA company: Leonid Lozhkin was appointed head, replacing Dmitry Filichkin in this post. Previously, Lozhkin worked in various gold mining projects in the Far East.
SIGMA is implementing a project to build an Ozernovsky mining and metallurgical plant in the Karaginsky district of the Kamchatka Territory. The capacity of two stages of this site is estimated at 140 thousand and 600 thousand tons of ore per year. Reserves of the deposit in 2020 were approved in the amount of 42 tons of gold. The resource potential of the Ozernovsky ore field, as of the beginning of 2023, is 191.5 tons of gold. By October 2023, the construction of the first stage of the gold mining plant was completed. The second stage is planned to be commissioned in early 2026.[1]
