Siberian State Industrial University is a federal state budgetary educational institution of higher professional education, under federal jurisdiction, having the status of a legal entity, implementing professional educational programs of secondary professional, higher, postgraduate, additional professional education, carrying out training, retraining, professional retraining and (or) advanced training of employees of higher qualifications, scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers and performing basic and applied scientific research in a wide range of sciences.

History

2021: Agreement with SAP and Evraz to create SAP Next-Gen Lab

SAP, EVRAZ and the Siberian State Industrial University (SibGIU) signed an agreement to create the SAP Next-Gen Lab innovation laboratory on the basis of the university. In the laboratory, university students and teachers will work on promising digital scenarios for EVRAZ and the mining and metallurgical industry as a whole. The memorandum of cooperation was signed by the deputy CEO of SAP CISAleksey Leontovich, the vice president of EVRAZ on information technologiyamarty Natrusov, the rector of SibGIU Alexey Yuryev. This was announced on December 13, 2021 in SAP.

SAP Next-Gen Lab plans to work on industry and cross-industrial scenarios in several areas: digital enterprise, energy-efficient production, artificial intelligence and video recognition, robotization, advanced analytics and reporting, remote assistants and chat bots, etc. Special attention in the laboratory will be paid to the sustainable development goals that all enterprises today set for themselves. In this part, work is planned on scenarios in the field of green production, responsible consumption, social responsibility, and the topic of promoting products mined and produced without damage to ecosystems will also be worked out. It is assumed that EVRAZ will become the key task manager for laboratory projects: students will be able to pilot created digital products at the company's production sites.

The SAP Next-Gen Lab format includes project seminars, hackathons, workshops, and trainings, as well as access to an extensive library of SAP training materials. As part of the relevant projects, student teams will be able to work with the necessary data, equipment and platform solutions of SAP to create innovative prototypes.

"SibGIU is actively developing cooperation with industrial partners. Together with EVRAZ, we launched the Center for Digital Competencies, and this is a large regional student data center. The innovative SAP Next-Gen Lab has become a logical continuation of the mission of a technological university. 2012

The average number of faculty members of the university in 2008-2012 was 715 people, of which 75 people have the degree of Doctor of Sciences, 366 - the degree of candidate of sciences.

2010

For the period from 2008 to 2010, 59 dissertations were defended in the dissertation councils of the university - 12 for the degree of Doctor of Sciences, 4 of them were defended by employees of SibGIU, and 47 for the degree of candidate of sciences, including 21 by university employees.
