History

2019: Beginning of a company performance

At the beginning of December, 2019 the Federal Aviation Administration of the USA (FAA) issued to SkyGrid permission to obtaining information on unmanned aerial vehicles.

SkyGrid is joint venture of the companies Boeing and SparkCognition which is engaged in development of a dispatching system for drones and the air taxi and which is created for air traffic control in the cities.

The Federal Aviation Administration of the USA (FAA) issued to SkyGrid permission to obtaining information on unmanned aerial vehicles

A dispatching system uses machine learning for work with large volumes of data which are stored a blockchain. Due to use of a blockchain developers expect to secure it against cracking and to provide authenticity of the instructions given to operators of UAVs, drones and the air taxi.

Perspective the solution will conduct permanent data exchange with the aviation dispatching systems accompanying the piloted passenger and freight transportation.

SkyGrid got access to the System of low-altitude authorization and notification of drones (low altitude authorization and notification capability, LAANC) which was started by FAA. A system directly supports safe integration of the UAV into airspace of the USA, accelerates time necessary for pilots of drones to get permission to flight within 400 feet (about 122 meters) in controlled airspace. The service is available to all pilots who work according to the rules FAA for small drones.

Thanks to the fact that SkyGrid approved work with the LAANC system clients can submit applications for permission of flights through this platform now.
