The Solar Staff service is an Internet service that makes it easier to organize work with freelancers and pay them remuneration. It not only automates the processes of setting tasks and accepting the results of work, but also simplifies document flow and reduces the tax burden on payments for work and services. When using Solar Staff, the company does not enter into direct legal relations with freelancers.

2024: Spin off part of Mellow-branded business

The service for transactions with freelance specialists Solar Staff will work only with Russian companies. The company announced this on May 29, 2024.

The changes will take effect on June 16, 2024. The company's immediate plans include the creation of products for managing alternative forms of employment and integration into marketplaces. A separate Mellow service will be launched for foreign customers.

Vladimir Koritsky will be responsible for the development of Solar Staff in Russia as CEO.

It was important for me to find one project that would not be 100% HR related. Solar Staff combines current trends in several industries at once, not only in HR and fintech. The service gives people the opportunity to earn money, and companies offer solutions to automate the management of freelance employees. This is a fundamentally new area, significantly different from what I have been doing for the last 19 years. In addition, my background in HR technologies and business development, as well as my vision of the strategy, are ideally combined with the values ​ ​ of the founders with their approach to management, - Vladimir Koritsky commented on his appointment.

Among the company's immediate plans is the creation of an integrable solution for managing alternative forms of employment (freelance employees, gig workers, contractors, etc.). Thus, the company plans to integrate into existing marketplaces, ERP systems, and help large companies with the automation of transactions, payments, disputes and tax reporting.

Five years ago, only IT companies and marketing agencies were mainly ready to work with freelance specialists. However, now this is an all-Russian trend - more and more companies from the fields of education, e-commerce, industry, telecom and other business segments are attracting freelance employees to solve problems.

Current customers of Solar Staff, whose companies are registered outside Russia, will move to a separate dedicated Mellow service. Data on performers, roles and payment methods will be transferred in advance for a seamless transition. In the future, Mellow will act as an "intermediary for legal work with contractors" ("CoR for contractor management") and help businesses in finding freelance employees, and performers in obtaining payments and visas for digital nomads.

As noted in the press service of the service, Russian, and foreign companies will be able to work with their performers from other countries - "the changes do not affect the geography of the performers, payment methods or the speed of support responses. We have expanded our team and divided the infrastructure so that Solar Staff and Mellow can operate independently of each other. "
