The product portfolio of Stonesoft company consists of four main categories:

• Firewall;
• IPS;
• SSL VPN;
• StoneGate Management Center (SMC).

The solution StoneGate Management Center (SMC) allows to manage on a centralized basis all products of Stonesoft company, thus, minimizing influence of a human factor on operability of a security system in general.

The solutions StoneGate have different licenses and certificates in information security field:

• RSA Secured is the certificate confirming full compatibility of all components of the platform of network security of StoneGate with a dominant technology of two-factor authentication of RSA SecurID;
• PCI DSS is an information protection standard in the industry of payment cards.
• FSTEC is the license for implementation of information system protection of personal data (ISPDN) to K2 inclusive;
• FSB is the license for compliance of the solutions StoneGate VPN and SSL VPN to the Russian cryptographic algorithm based on the cryptocore of Crypto Missile defense certified by FSB of Russia

The products Stonesoft are applied practically in all industries (a telecom, banks, retail, etc.) where the enterprises have the geographically distributed character complicating personal data protection. As a part of SZPDN the product line of Stonesoft corporation solves problems of firewalling, prevention of network attacks and monitoring of all network infrastructure. At the same time the specified subsystems of cybersecurity are completely integrated and have the uniform centralized control system that simplifies creation and service of the IB complete system at the enterprises of any scale, including large corporations and personal data operators, i.e. customers with increased requirements to security and availability of the information systems.

History

2013: McAfee buys Stonesoft for $389 million

The cybersecurity company McAfee announced in May, 2013 intention to purchase for $389 million the Finnish developer Stonesoft. The main specialization of this enterprise are means of network protection: firewall, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), the organization of secure channels SSL VPN, etc. can both be established by software of vendor directly at the customer, and to work from remote capacities.^[1]

The management of McAfee speaks about integration of the bought solutions into own line of software. "We are going to integrate offers of Stonesoft with other products McAfee", - the president of the American company Michael DeCesare said. Also in McAfee explained that further are going to develop business solutions on network protection on three platforms at once – in addition to the purchased line already existing IPS Network Security Platform and Firewall Enterprise mean.

As Stonesoft is the public company which stocks are quoted on the stock exchange in Helsinki (a ticker of SFT), the parties of the transaction already made the proposal on redemption of stocks of the enterprise, being in free circulation. To holders of these papers about 4.5 euros are offered to receive for each of them. The Board of Directors of the Finnish company recommended to shareholders to accept such conditions.

It more than twice more expensively than quotations to the declaration of the transaction: the award makes 128% to Stonesoft share price at the time of closing of the platform on Friday May 3 or 142% to the weighted average price for the last year of biddings. Respectively also securities of Stonesoft reacted, having doubled the cost at the exchange in Helsinki.

2012: Certification of solutions on the SIPP program

On May 15, 2012 Stonesoft announced successful certification of the solutions on the SIPP program (Security Intelligence Partner Program) in the Q1 Labs laboratory belonging to IBM corporation. Integration of solutions of Stonesoft into the platform of the analysis of threats of IT security IBM QRadar Security Intelligence using open protocols will allow to make deeper correlation of events of security and events of level of applications and will simplify works on implementation.

The Security Intelligence Partner Program program allows the companies to be integrated with the platform of the analysis of threats QRadar, providing providing operational data on assets, events, vulnerabilities and security risks, configuration management and information flows and also management of automatic updates. Joint testing as a part of certification of SIPP guarantees interoperability of solutions of Stonesoft with the QRadar Security Intelligence platform.

All product line of Stonesoft includes: industry-first cybersecurity a dynamic transformer of security of Security Engine, the firewall of the next generation (NGFW), an intelligent system of an intrusion prevention of IPS and also the gateway of protection of remote access of SSL VPN under centralized operation of Stonesoft Management Center. A log from all Stonesoft devices can be transferred in QRadar in the Log Event Enhanced Format (LEEF) format. Besides, in Stonesoft Management Center can also come a log from other devices to LEEF – a compatible format, thus enhancing functionality of solutions of Stonesoft on support of management of logs from devices of the third producers.

2011: Accession to the affiliate program of RSA

On October 13, 2011 Stonesoft announced the accession to the affiliate program of RSA Certified Partner Program that it will allow to integrate the products StoneGate Firewall/VPN, IPS and SSL VPN made by Stonesoft with the platform of monitoring and management of events of security of RSA enVision® from RSA, division on security of EMC company. The certificate of compatibility will allow to set interoperability of these solutions, i.e. a possibility of data processing of audit collected from StoneGate devices using the RSA enVision platform. Thereby, clients of both companies will benefit from improvement of "visibility' of events of information security that will raise the security level of their information systems and will simplify observance of requirements of regulating documents.
