"The main task of the fund is to give promising startups a chance to grow so that they can fill the Russian market with demanded products. The fund's partners have gained serious experience in creating complex IT projects and financial management. Our expertise will help young IT teams find the optimal track for the development of the project and confidently go from the sowing stage to a stable market player, "Dmitry Komissarov commented on the event. |
Fund partners have assigned functional responsibilities according to their key competencies. Dmitry Komissarov became the main technical ideologist and visionary, his duties include the search for promising projects and control over development. Alexey Melnikov is responsible for verification of the business model and corporate financial audit. Eduard Batanov builds the operational activities of supported projects in accordance with the developed development strategies.
"Our main goal is the sustainable and dynamic development of the Russian market, which today has a need to create a number of complex technologies. Thanks to our common efforts and experience, promising teams will have the opportunity to quickly create and bring to the market much-needed solutions, "said Eduard Batanov. |
The investment strategy of the Strigo Capital fund involves supporting IT companies in the first round after the sowing stage (financing series A). The applicant for investment must have a prototype solution (MVP), have a formed business plan confirmed by the first sales, and also have a vision for the development of the project in the long term.
Over the next 12 months, using market instruments, own funds of participants, as well as due to an increase in the number of investors, Strigo Capital plans to attract 3 billion rubles to invest in complex technological projects offering IT solutions. Strigo Capital's priority areas are operating systems, cross-platform system and mid-tier software, including storage and management, as well as virtualization and software-defined networking products.
"As a group of companies, initially specializing in the development and production of IT hardware, at some point we realized the importance of replacing software products that were now presented to us by" unfriendly "vendors. Moreover, by our own example, we were convinced that only the synergy of software with hardware gives the best result. Therefore, they did not hesitate for themselves to accept Dmitry Komissarov's offer to participate in such a fund, especially given Dmitry's professional experience and visionary, "said Alexey Melnikov for his part. "We are glad that such expertise will allow us to accelerate the development of software projects that we started on our own." |
As of June 13, 2023, the Strigo Capital portfolio includes two Russian startups: Avroid, a cross-platform development tool, and Hyperus, a developer of hyper-converged IT platforms for managing IT infrastructure. Under the terms of investment projects, the fund received control packages of both companies.
By the end of 2023, Strigo Capital intends to invest more than 300 million rubles in the development of Avroid. Both portfolio companies are in the process of preparing to bring prototypes of their solutions to market. So, at the beginning of June 2023, the Avroid team has already presented the Tavro project - a mobile application for working with Telegram surrounded by the protected Aurora OS.
