2023: Profit growth doubled to 29.24 billion rubles
The Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) completed 2023 with a net profit of 29.24 billion rubles, obtained from the results of work during this 12-month period. Compared to 2022, when the profit was 14.68 billion rubles, in 2023 the figure doubled. The revenue of the mining and metallurgical holding during this time decreased by 4%, to 287.48 billion rubles. Such data are contained in the reporting under RAS, published in early April 2024.
According to Interfax, citing UMMC documents, in 2023, revenues from the sale of finished copper products from the company amounted to 213.3 billion rubles, which is 7.7% less than in the previous year. The decline in revenues in this segment occurred against the background of a decrease in sales volumes by 79.949 thousand tons.
UMMC earned another 27.6 billion rubles in 2023 on the sale of zinc products (an increase of 8.7%, by 15.797 thousand tons in physical terms), 2.9 billion rubles - from the sale of ferrous metallurgy products (a decrease of 15.3%), 42.4 billion rubles - from wholesale trade in goods (an increase of 13.5%).
It also follows from the reporting that the accounts receivable of UMMC by the end of 2023 reached 182.73 billion rubles against 76.16 billion rubles a year earlier. The company's accounts payable decreased 38.94 billion to 35.83 billion rubles. At the end of 2023, the holding paid an excess profit tax of more than 667 million rubles.
As of the end of 2023, the authorized capital of UMMC is 420 million rubles, it is divided into ordinary shares with a par value of 1 ruble each. In 2023, the company spent 15.7 million rubles on capital construction, including 9 million rubles on industrial construction, and also purchased various equipment for 219.8 million rubles.[1]
