The union of publishers of "GIPP" (earlier – Guild of publishers) is created in September, 1998 at the initiative of a number of the leading Russian publishers. The mission of GIPP – to promote transformation of the publishing industry into the competitive, cost-efficient, professionally managed, investment attractive, socially responsible business. The main objective of GIPP – creating favorable conditions for development of publishing business in Russia and formation of solid publishing community.

Components

More than 300 companies, including about 250 regional are a part of GIPP for July, 2017. Publishers – members of GIPP more than 2500 names of printed media, including the leading daily newspapers, consumer, business, scientific, entertainment, sectoral magazines are issued. GIPP initiates and starts industry projects in spheres: advertizing and media measurements, industry education, polygraphy and paper; provides to publishers various services and services. GIPP – the certified member and the representative of interests of the leading international associations WAN-IFRA and FIPP in Russia.

History

2017: Creation of "Advertizing alliance of publishers"

On July 10, 2017 it was announced that five largest Russian publishing houses entering into the Union of publishers of "GIPP" founded the Advertising Alliance of Publishers (AAP) agency and for the first time begin the consolidated sales of advertizing on the websites of the editions. The stock which is not implemented by publishers independently is offered for sale. The size and quality of audience provide to Alliance the place in the first three of news resources of Runet: the audience of platforms makes more than 20 million people, and the available stock exceeds 250 million demonstrations a month. Publishers calculate that the Alliance will help to solve key problems of the market of Internet advertizing: growth of a share of fraudulent traffic, lack of control over channels of placement, deficit of premium stock and pressure from transnational digital giants.

The profit of the new company should be distirbuted between founders in proportion to the advertizing traffic implemented by Alliance within the project on each of platforms. Read more here.
