2024: Ex-head of company gets 5 years in prison

Former CEO of the company Energodata"" Vadim Matveev was sentenced to five years in prison for fraud on an especially large scale. The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow on June 10, 2024 issued a corresponding verdict, confirming that Matveev participated in the conclusion of fictitious contracts with JSC Oboronenergosbyt"." here More.

2020: Company bankruptcy

The Energodata company, which was one of the largest outsourcers of support SAP in, Russia is going bankrupt, TAdviser found out in December 2020. Energodata itself appealed to the court to declare her bankrupt. Consideration of the case on the merits is scheduled for February 2021. And until that time, by decision of the Arbitration Court Moscow , a monitoring procedure was introduced in relation to it and a temporary manager was appointed.

Observation - a bankruptcy procedure applied to a debtor organization in order to ensure the safety of its property, analyze its financial condition, draw up a register of creditors' claims and hold their first meeting.

At the time of applying for bankruptcy, Energodata's accounts payable amounted to about 80 million rubles, follows from a court decision published in the file of Moscow arbitration courts. It also follows from the file cabinet that the amount of this size from Energodata is trying to recover Oboronenergosbyt, an electricity supplier that provided electricity to the structures of the Ministry of Defense.

At the same time, Oboronenergosbyt JSC was previously declared bankrupt by the court, bankruptcy proceedings were opened against it. Prior to that, in October 2018, the media wrote about a high-profile criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud committed by a group of persons on an especially large scale), the defendants of which were the technical director of Oboronenergosbyt Yuri Yushchak and the then general director of Energodata Vadim Matveev[1]. The case was opened back in 2017, it follows from the materials on the portal of the courts of Moscow, and Yushchak and Matveev were arrested in 2018.

This happened shortly after Lanit announced the entry of Energodata into its group in July 2018[2]Legally, since May 2018, Vladimir Gribov, vice president and managing director of Lanita, has been the owner of Energodata.

There have been no updates on Yushchak on the Moscow court portal since 2019, and on Matveev since 2018. At the same time, there is no official data on what fraud was then discussed. Several contracts are reflected on the public procurement website between Energodata and Oboronenergosbyt. The largest of them, in the amount of 37.3 million rubles, envisaged the creation and implementation of a unified automated tax and accounting system in Oboronenergosbyt in 2016.

After the arrest of Vadim Matveyev in Energodat, the general director changed three times. In October 2018, Andrei Agapkin became him, in February 2019 - Pavel Goryansky, and since February 2020, Ilya Saulin has been the general director.

In 2019, according to Kontur. Focus, Energodata received a net loss of more than 102 million rubles. In the same year, the company's revenue decreased by about 73%, to 132 million rubles.

Previously, Energodata was one of the largest SAP solution support outsourcer in Russia. In the corresponding TAdviser rating at the end of 2016, she took second place. At the time of joining Lanit, the company reported more than 120 completed projects. Among the clients, Energodat then named mainly companies in the electric power sector, including the Federal Grid Company (FGC UES) and its branches, Rosneft, MUEC, IDGC of Center, Oboronenergosbyt, Energostroysnabnekt UES, Center for Engineering and Construction Management of UES, AI Energy Service, etc.

At the same time, it seems that the decline in the financial performance of the company occurred not only against the background of the arrest of the general director, but also before. Although, it is hardly possible to say exactly when it began, since not all of Energodata's financial statements are available in open sources. But, in 2013, for example, in Energodat itself, TAdviser was called the indicator of its revenue for 2011 at more than 1 billion rubles. And in 2016, according to the database "Kontur. Focus," the revenue of the legal entity LLC "Energodata" was about 573 million rubles. At the same time, there are no established subsidiaries in the database of legal entities, whose turnover could also be taken into account.

In 2017, the revenue of Energodata LLC decreased to 368.1 million rubles, net profit - from almost 29 million rubles to about 3 million rubles. In 2018, the revenue of this legal entity grew, but not to the level of 2015-2016, the same can be said about net profit.

In addition, in 2013, TAdviser cited TAdviser as saying that its staff was about 320 people, and in 2018, Lanita reported, even before the news of the arrest of Energodata's general director, it was said that the company employs over 200 "qualified and experienced" employees. In 2019, according to Kontur. Focus, the average number of staff in Energodat was already 82 people.

The former top manager of one of Energodata's competitor companies in the SAP solution support outsourcing market, with which TAdviser spoke, says that there was a period when FGC occupied a very significant share in Energodata's business. In fact, FGC was also its first SAP customer (for more details, see the block below for 2007). But subsequently, the volume of contracts with this customer at Energodata decreased. Maybe this was due to a change in management making decisions in the field of IT at the FGC UES, the interlocutor of TAdviser suggested.

Another former employee of the competitor company Energodata believes that the performance of its activities could also be affected by the fact that Rosseti, with whose structures Energodata previously concluded large contracts, has been actively developing the internal IT integrator VOLS-VL Management over the past few years. They began to give him more work that had previously been performed by third-party suppliers, says the interlocutor of TAdviser. According to Kontur. Focus, the revenue of the VOLS-VL Administration has soared in recent years: from about 155.8 million in 2012 to 4.4 billion rubles.

One of the companies operating in this market notes that in the electric power industry segment there is a trend towards the transfer of support, support and development of corporate systems to internal IT specialists. But for complex implementations and large development projects that require deeper expertise, as before, they attract partners or vendors themselves, said an expert from the company with whom TAdviser spoke.

In Lanit itself, TAdviser was told that the situation with the bankruptcy of Energodata was caused solely by market conditions.

The arrest of the CEO was not related to the activities of the company itself, but, unfortunately, significantly affected the development of its business. Reputational risks worked, and the company lost part of the contracts, turnover decreased. Of course, the management made every effort to save the business, but this was no longer possible, - explained TAdviser in Lanit.

The company added that Energodata was always a responsible supplier that fulfilled the terms of the contracts, and all obligations to customers were fulfilled in full.

2018: New owner - top manager of Lanita

As TAdviser found out, in June 2018, EnergoDatya changed its owner: according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, it became the Vladimir Gribov vice president, managing director of the system integrator. "LANIT

Since June, EnergoDate has begun to be positioned as a company within Lanit.

Owner of Energodata Vladimir Gribov

Vladimir Gribov told TAdviser that Lanit is interested in strengthening expertise in the field of Energodata's activities:

The positions of EnergoDatya in the ratings of players in the IT services, consulting, ERP systems, BI solutions market confirm its great potential. There are many promising projects in the company's portfolio, and the team has the necessary qualifications for their successful implementation

Among other things, the deal with Energodata is interesting in that this is the first time that a company as part of the Lanit group does not belong to the Gens family. During the life of the founder - George Gens - the policy on this issue was different:

We, as well as in Yandex, for example, have option agreements that concern the heads of various businesses, but they are arranged differently. The company remains mine, and by agreement the manager receives a share from dividends or from the possible sale of the business. That is, in fact - the same benefits as if he were a co-owner of the business (from an interview with George Gens to TAdviser in March 2018)

Earlier, the founder of EnergoDatya was the Cypriot company Marcondale Management Limited, and after it, since 2017, Maria Krayukhina, managing director of the ru-Net fund.

2010: Recovery from the crisis

File:Aquote1.png
2010 was a difficult but productive year, "Valeria Lakshevich, head of the Energodata press service, said in an interview with Astera. The energy industry, which makes up the bulk of Energodata's customer pool, was recovering from the crisis, which naturally affected the distribution of IT budgets of the largest players in this market. The main activities of Energodata are outsourcing business applications and the implementation of standard design solutions. During the crisis, the company's customers experienced a clear shift in priorities towards outsourcing, since maintaining the operability of existing information systems is a business need that is difficult to abandon. The introduction of new technologies temporarily slowed down, and the growth of the volumes of previous years began to recover only in the second half of the year
