2024: Appointment as CEO of Vostok Oil
On July 1, 2024, it became known about the change of the general director of Vostok Oil: this position was taken by Andrei Lazeev instead of Vladimir Chernov.
The corresponding entry appeared in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (Unified State Register of Legal Entities) on June 28, 2024.
As Interfax notes in an article dated July 1, 2024, Lazeev has been working at Rosneft for more than 10 years, from May 2022 until the end of June 2024 he headed Bashneft.
Chernov, who is the first vice president of Rosneft, has been appointed general director of Bashneft (instead of Lazeev) since June 19. Since 2020, Chernov has led Vostok Oil and Vankorneft (the operator of the Vankor project, which became part of Vostok Oil).
In June 2024, Lazeev, instead of Chernov, was appointed general director of RN-Vankor (operator Vostok Oil) and NGH-Nedra (part of Taimyrneftegaz, the owner of the Payakhskoye field, which is also included in Vostok Oil).
Vostok Oil is Rosneft's flagship project. It involves the development of oil fields in Taimyr. The resource base is 6.5 billion tons of premium low-sulfur oil. It includes 52 licensed areas in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, where 13 oil and gas fields are located, including the fields of the Vankor and Payakhsky clusters. Rosneft plans to start shipping oil from Vostok Oil along the Northern Sea Route in 2024.
Market participants interviewed by Kommersant associate the change of leadership in Vostok Oil with Rosneft's intentions to accelerate the development of a key project, including the development of fields.[2]
