The main principles of Dmitry Grishin
October 15, 2012 Dmitry Grishin turned only 34 years old. What life principles allowed him to achieve such outstanding success, he told Kommersant a few years ago the[1]:
- Most of all, I don't like self-confident stupidity. When a person himself does not understand anything and is very actively trying to convince others of his opinion.
- If there is no drive in the Internet company, then this company dies. My business intersects very closely with life, so for me the main thing is that it brings pleasure and visible result.
- Complete democracy in business can lead to the results being replaced by endless conversations. I like to discuss ideas with subordinates, argue, but at some point I make a decision, and all the discussions stop.
- I consider myself a workaholic-light. On average, I work 12-14 hours a day. But I leave time for family and hobbies.
- For seven years I have not had a vacation, only New Year holidays. But this is wrong, and the family treats this negatively, so I will change the schedule.
- A good manager makes the right decisions in 50% of cases, bad - in 10%. But it is better to make at least some decision than not to make any.
- If someone says that it is very easy for him to dismiss a person, he is either a liar or a sadist.
- I am insanely annoyed by sports, where you must mechanically perform some actions. There must be excitement and competition. From sports games I love big tennis.
- I used to prefer beer. But after celebrating his wedding in Venice, he began to be quite loyal to white guilt.
- I made my first money by selling a computer game that I wrote myself. It was called Alfa-Romeo. I saw the name on the insert from chewing gum. With the proceeds, I bought a computer drive.
- In modern business literature, unfortunately, one thick book accounts for two or three smart thoughts. So now I'm reading Adam Smith. In the current situation, it is important to understand the fundamental foundations of the economy.
- A good education allows us to take advantage of the chances if we find ourselves in the right place at the right time.
- I dream of building not just a large or large, but a dominant company on the Internet in Russia. At the same time, most of all, I am afraid to turn our company into a huge bureaucratic structure.
- I love computer games myself and I don't mind people playing or crawling on the Internet at work. Just that other companies spend time for us is studying the market.
- There is nothing more interesting than the Internet now. I am interested in astronautics, robotics, but you will not build a mass business there yet.
- With the exception of Moscow, I like San Remo the most. You go one way - Cannes and Monte Carlo, the other - the Alps, and always the sea. In retirement, perhaps I would like to live there, although I have never thought about retirement.
