2025: Seizure of property worth 10.5 billion rubles

On January 15, 2025, the Arbitration Court of the Moscow District, at the request of the state corporation Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA), arrested the property of Natalia Demidova, ex-chairman of the board of directors of Interprombank Design Bureau.

It is said that interim measures were taken as part of a dispute over the recovery of losses with Demidova and other former heads of the credit institution. The arrest was imposed on property worth more than 10.5 billion rubles.

On April 16, 2021, the Bank of Russia revoked the banking license from Interprombank. The regulator said that this credit institution underestimated the amount of reserves necessary for the formation of reserves for possible losses on loan and equivalent debt, and also made transactions with non-core assets in order to artificially improve financial performance and conceal its real financial position. It was said that the bulk of Interprombank's loan portfolio was troubled loans. According to the Central Bank, against the background of the deterioration in the quality of the loan portfolio, Interprombank conducted circuit transactions with non-core assets to camouflage the real value of the risks taken and overestimate the value of capital. At the same time, throughout 2020, "there was a decrease in liquid assets to a critical level."

The DIA appealed to the court with a statement about the arrest of the property of four persons who previously controlled Interprombank, on the claim for the recovery of 10.2 billion rubles of losses from them. In particular, as Interfax reported, the agency asked to arrest property, including cash, of the former board of directors of the bank Vasily Zipukho in the amount of 10 billion rubles, chairman of the board of directors Natalia Demidova for 9.8 billion rubles, as well as deputy chairman of the board Maria Kadulina for 9.5 billion rubles and Olga Lobanova within 7.8 billion rubles.^[1]
