2021: License Revocation

In April 2021, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation revoked the license of Interprombank. The banking business is heavily tied to trust. One of the bank's shareholders, Dmitry Mazurov, was imprisoned in 2019, then the bank lost its main client - the Antipinsky refinery and Mazurov's New Stream groups went bankrupt.

The combination of factors led to the fact that two main businesses collapsed in the bank - the issuance of loans stopped, as did the issuance of bank guarantees. In this market, Interprombank was a prominent player and many companies require contractors to re-issue guarantees from another bank.

INTERPROMBANK JSC is a member of the compulsory deposit insurance system (No. 477 according to the register) and its depositors, in accordance with the Federal Law "On Deposit Insurance in Banks of the Russian Federation," are entitled to receive insurance compensation for insured deposits (accounts) (hereinafter referred to as the deposit).

Reimbursement is paid by the Agency in the currency of the Russian Federation at the expense of the Mandatory Deposit Insurance Fund.

The amount of reimbursement to the depositor is determined based on the amount of all his deposits in the bank, including interest on deposits, but not more than the maximum amount (limit) of insurance compensation established by the Federal Law for the corresponding type (category) of deposits.

Interest on deposits is calculated on the date of occurrence of the insured event based on the conditions of each specific bank deposit (account) agreement.

Deposits in foreign currency are included in the calculation of reimbursement at the rate established by the Bank of Russia on the day of the occurrence of the insured event.

The agency will begin payments no later than April 30, 2021. Prior to this date, the Agency will publish in the periodical publication at the location of the bank, and will also post on the Agency's website on the Internet an official message about the start date of payment of compensation for deposits, place, time, form and procedure for accepting applications for payment of insurance compensation.

To promptly accept depositors' applications and accelerate reimbursement payments on deposits, the Agency intends to use agent banks that will be selected on a competitive basis no later than April 22, 2021.

Applications for insurance compensation may be submitted by depositors during the entire period of liquidation of the bank, which is at least a year.
