In April 2021, Vasily Osmakov was appointed First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Previously, this position was held by Sergey Tsyb. He left the Ministry of Industry and Trade, but his new place of work in the department was not named.
A source close to the Ministry of Industry and Trade told Interfax that Tsyb was moving to Rostec. He will be responsible for supporting state programs in the field of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and health care, he said. The state corporation itself by April 15, 2021 does not comment on this information.
In his new position, Vasily Osmakov will deal with the regulation, development and licensing of the pharmaceutical industry, while continuing to oversee import substitution issues.
