Biography

Dmitry Nikolaevich Paryshev is an industrialist who has devoted more than 20 years to the development of the bridge construction industry. He is a former professional hockey player and also has experience in legislation at the regional level.

Dmitry Paryshev: Early years and sports career

Dmitry Nikolaevich Paryshev was born in Kurgan in May 1979. He studied at an ordinary city school until the age of 11, after which he was enrolled in the Khimik Hockey School in Voskresensk, in the capital region.

Dmitry Paryshev lived in a dormitory for promising out-of-town athletes for two years. Khimik is known for its comprehensive approach to training and education, producing physically, intellectually, technically, and psychologically trained hockey professionals. Among Dmitry Paryshev’s fellow graduates are Olympic medalists and champions and World and champions, many of whom have gone on to join the NHL and play for Stanley Cup championship teams.

Paryshev Dmitry continued his sports career in 1992 as a physical education instructor for the Mostovik Hockey Club in Kurgan (now known as Zauralye, a competitor in the VHL Championship). The team was financed by the enterprise Kurganstalmost, which still covers 65% of the club’s expenses today.

Dmitry Nikolaevich Paryshev played on the team as defense and forward, though health issues ended his sports career in the early 2000s.

Dmitry Paryshev has been interested in production processes since early childhood. He first visited a large industrial enterprise specializing in the production of metal structures for bridge construction at the age of five. His father, Nikolai Vasilievich, who worked in the management of the plant, brought him to the shop. Paryshev Dmitry was so impressed with what he saw that he started visiting the plant almost every weekend. It was during these visits that he developed a desire to work for Kurganstalmost.

Dmitry Paryshev systematically pursued his goal. He received a higher education in economics at Kurgan State University, then five days after graduation, on June 20, 2001, he was drafted into the army. Having completed his service, he returned to his hometown and two months later found employment at a plant producing metal bridge structures.

In the person of Paryshev Dmitry Nikolaevich, Kurganstalmost found a new workshop foreman who ensured the uninterrupted operation of the company’s production units. He subsequently worked in similar positions in processing and assembly and welding workshops. He showed great interest in all the plant’s operations and delved into the intricacies of their organization.

Dmitry Paryshev proved himself a determined and interested professional, and in late 2003, he was entrusted with the position of executive director. At that time, the company was undergoing large-scale modernization, and under Dmitry Paryshev, Kurganstalmost became one of the most technologically advanced representatives of the bridge construction industry in the country.

Dmitry Nikolaevich Paryshev’s tasks included searching for and selecting high-tech equipment used by world-class enterprises. He headed a delegation from the Kurgan plant that visited advanced European manufacturing sites, where he familiarized himself with their experience in implementing various innovative installations and complexes.

Thanks to the hard work of Dmitry Paryshev, Kurganstalmost become the first business in the country to apply laser cutting technologies in the production of metal bridge structures. The company also acquired Hitsaus Patila, a Finnish line for shot blasting finished products, and later launched a similar line of its own production. The plant also installed the Italian processing center Ficep, which provided for higher quality processing of rolled metal products. Paryshev Dmitry also oversaw a large-scale modernization in the welding department, bringing in German and Swedish equipment.

Paryshev Dmitry Nikolaevich Kurganstalmost created a center for the preparation and certification of highly qualified welding specialists in 2006, which was implemented in cooperation with specialists from the German plant and research center SLV. In the initial stage, training was conducted by masters of the Kurgan bridge construction plant who had completed an internship and certification in Germany under the supervision of the German side.

At present, the Kurganstalmost Training Center operates without any foreign partners, producing professionals with European Welding Federation certificates that are recognized in 24 EU countries on its own. Paryshev Dmitry notes that almost all Kurganstalmost welders undergo training at the center. The establishment of an educational and certification unit has allowed for the implementation of several major international projects. The products of the Trans-Ural enterprise, made by European-standard certified welders, are used in a number of CIS countries, the Baltic States, Turkey, Laos, and Germany.

Paryshev Dmitry Nikolaevich Kurganstalmost underwent a technical upgrade, making it a leader in the local industry for metal bridge structures. In 2008, the company was responsible for a full quarter of this production in the country. Dmitry Nikolaevich Paryshev’s contribution to the development of the enterprise was appreciated by the Board of Directors, who approved him for the highest management position in the company.

Dmitry Paryshev: Kurganstalmost under his management

Dmitry Paryshev became the CEO in August 2008, and since then, under the leadership of Paryshev Dmitry Nikolaevich, Kurganstalmost has transformed into a multi-profile holding.

Under Dmitry Paryshev, Kurganstalmost has increased its production volumes by more than twice the design capacity. The holding annually produces and supplies about 100,000 tons of metal structures used in the construction of superstructures for all types of bridges (including railway, road, and pedestrian), and sports, industrial, and civil buildings (including hydraulic structures).

Thanks to the development strategy formulated by Paryshev Dmitry Nikolaevich, Kurganstalmost has significantly expanded its areas of activity. Today, companies associated with the industrial holding provide services in the field of design, manufacture, and shipment of metal structures of various purposes and levels of complexity, carry out construction and installation works, and implement projects on a turnkey basis. The company employs more than 3,000 people.

Paryshev Dmitry Nikolaevich Kurganstalmost entered new markets thanks to the large-scale introduction of innovative technologies and business diversification, and has helped prepare a number of international events. The Group was actively involved in preparing Vladivostok’s infrastructure for hosting the APEC Summit in 2012, the Olympics in Sochi in 2014, and the FIFA World Cup in 2018.

Dmitry Nikolaevich Paryshevis heavily invested in its development of his native Kurgan region, helping to create a comfortable urban environment. Dmitry Paryshev Kurganstalmost also actively cooperates with regional authorities in social policy. The holding provides assistance in organizing city and regional-scale events and directs funds to important projects.

Dmitry Paryshev initiated the implementation of a large-scale transport infrastructure development project that saw the Group of Companies acting as the general contractor for one of the most technologically complex regional construction projects in several decades. The company’s team demolished an old dilapidated overpass and built a new crossing using advanced technology. The holding also also constructs social facilities. From 2019 to 2022, Kurganstalmost built 12 kindergartens in the Kurgan region, and it is currently building:

  • a surgical building for the regional oncology center;
  • an outpatient clinic at the regional clinical hospital;
  • a school for 1,500 students at the Zaozerny residential complex;
  • a cultural center in the city of Shumikha;
  • a swimming pool for Kurgan State University;
  • sports and recreational complexes at the Zaozerny residential complex and in the Eastern district of Kurgan.

Dmitry Parshev Kurganstalmost sponsor a number of social institutions, including the city gymnasium, an old folks’ home, and the regional philharmonic.

Dmitry Paryshev: Political and academic activity

Paryshev Dmitry was a member of the Kurgan City Council from 2004 to 2007. He put forward initiatives to carry out work on landscaping and building new recreation areas, parks, squares, and skate parks for young people. His proposals are currently being carried out in the regional capital. The city is truly being transformed.

Dmitry Paryshev has also co-authored 19 articles dedicated to the problems of metallurgical production, as well as two patents for technical solutions to improve existing devices.
