Career
2024: Appointment of the Deputy Head of the Federal Air Transport agency
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree appointing Andrei Potemkin as the new deputy head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviation). The corresponding document was published on January 30, 2024.
As the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency clarified, Andrei Potemkin will oversee three areas in the department:
- use of airspace;
- radio engineering of flights and aviation telecommunication;
- aerospace search and rescue.
The Federal Air Transport Agency noted that Andrei Potemkin has repeatedly made public reports at industry forums and conferences. In particular, he spoke with such topics as "Why is it necessary to develop unmanned aircraft in Russia?" and "What changes are needed in order to increase the speed of delivery?"
Interfax recalls that earlier Andrei Potemkin worked as Deputy General Director for Development at Aviatelekominvest. It was created in 2018 "to implement large-scale projects in the field of digitalization of air transport and modernization of aircraft flight support," according to the organization's website. One of her projects is the expansion of the multi-position surveillance system of the St. Petersburg zone of the Unified Air Traffic Management System.
In addition, Potemkin worked in senior positions in the Ministry of Transport and the Federal State Unitary Enterprise State Research Institute of Civil Aviation subordinate to the Federal Air Transport Agency.
By the end of January 2024, the Federal Air Transport Agency is headed by Dmitry Yadrov, who replaced Alexander Neradko in this post. According to information posted on the agency's website, before Andrei Potemkin came to the department, Yadrov has two deputies: Natalya Andrianova and Andrei Dobryakov.[1][2]
