Activation of "Anchor" VM backup tool
The company Aero disk"," Russian the developer and manufacturer of innovative solutions in the field data storage and, virtualizations on November 1, 2021, announced the development of its own tool for " backup virtual machines Anchor."
The development closes the need for a specialized VM backup tool in virtualization environments based on the KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) software solution, which is used in the hyperconverged AERODISK vAIR system and the AIST hypervisor.
When creating them, the company assumed that the backup functionality would be implemented by means of specialized vendors. As practice has shown, despite the presence of functionality for VM backup based on KVM, none of the solutions available on the market is optimal for performing this task. Despite the fact that KVM is massively used in a huge number of virtualized IT infrastructures, the target backup system for its specifics is not presented on the market. It was this circumstance that became the incentive for the development of its own solution by the Aerodisk team of specialists.
The situation is largely similar to the problem of VM backup in virtualization environments from VMware, when no tool from the existing pool met the current requirements of the vendor. The decision arose only with the advent of developments from Veeam, - explained Vyacheslav Volodkovich, General Director of Aerodisk. |
The Anchor VM backup tool is not positioned at this stage as a separate product for market promotion. It acts as an addition to AIST and vAIR as a built-in free utility, and in addition to VM backup on KVM, no other functions are performed using it.
We do not consider Anchor to be a tool for competition with the solutions of vendors of classic backup tools. On the contrary, we plan its further integration with the developments of leading Russian companies. Of course, the expansion of capabilities is planned: for example, it should be possible to backup to magnetic tapes. If we see the potential, we will consider the launch of a community version for the external market. However, at this stage, Anchor is solving the problem of backing up our own VMs of our IT virtualization solutions, "said Vyacheslav Volodkovich. |
By November 2021, the final stages of testing the Anchor are being completed, and it will appear in the latest AIST distributions, and will also be included in the update of the vAIR software already installed among users.
Integration with data protection means "Accord"
Aerodisk, a Russian developer of data storage and virtualization systems, and OKB SAPR, a domestic developer of information protection software and hardware, have completed the technical integration of the Aerodisk vAIR hyperconverged system and the AIST hypervisor with the Accord information protection tools. This enables the end-to-end solution to be used for critical information infrastructure protection and certification tasks. This was announced on July 16, 2021 by the Aerodisk company. Registration in Rospatent
The Aerodisk company, a Russian developer of data storage and virtualization systems, on February 16, 2021 announced the state registration of its solutions in the register of computer programs of the Federal Intellectual Property Service (Rospatent). The register was replenished with two products of the company: the Aerodisk Vostok storage system and the AIST Aerodisk virtualization system.
Based on the Aerodisk Vostok software, a series of completely domestic data storage systems of the same name works: not only software, but also most of the software components of all solutions of the line are developed and produced in Russia. The line for February 2021 includes the models "Aerodisk Vostok B," "Aerodisk Vostok E24," "Aerodisk Vostok E12," as well as "Aerodisk Vostok E124." They allow you to solve the problems of creating archives, backups, file access, as well as ultra-dense storage, virtualization and working with critical DBMS.
AIST Aerodisk is a virtualization system (hypervisor) that can be used as part of the Aerodisk vAIR version of the hyperconverged system, as well as as a standalone solution. It provides flexible and reliable execution of virtual machines based on physical servers. Among the functionality of "AIST" are a distributed control system, fault tolerance, support for a large range of server equipment and DSS, integration with third-party solutions through the RESTful API.
Aerodisk Vostok received a certificate of state registration of the computer program No. 2021610908, and Aerodisk AIST received a certificate of registration No. 2020667743.
Registration of the solution in the register of programs for Rospatent computers is the main evidence of the company's exclusive rights to the result of its creative intellectual work. As a result, Aerodisk confirmed its authorship regarding the decisions of Aerodisk Vostok and Aerodisk AIST, which is extremely important for their commercialization, "said Vyacheslav Volodkovich, General Director of Aerodisk. |
Inclusion in the Unified Register of Russian Programs
