Adobe of InDesign ([əˈ dəubi indi’zain], Edoubi Indizayn) is the publishing software (DTP) developed and distributed by Adobe Systems company.
2019: Release of a plug-in AccurioPro Variable Data
On December 9, 2019 the Konica Minolta company submitted the professional AccurioPro Variable Data software package for creation of materials on the basis of variable data and their printing. Konica Minolta AccurioPro Variable Data is a functional plug-in for Adobe of InDesign. The plug-in allows to add easily variable data to any document InDesign, to create unique materials, at the same time users have a choice of a format both final files, and a format of data source. 2011: Description of Adobe of InDesign
For April, 2011, InDesign — the direct competitor QuarkXPress (so-called "quark killer"), the competitor from the free software — Scribus. In 2002 it was the first desktop publishing program for Mac OS X. Besides, InDesign CS and InDesign CS2 were connected with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat in Adobe Creative Suite. Documents of InDesign can be exported to Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) with multilingual support. InDesign is the first large packet of DTP with support of Unicode for processing of texts, the OpenType fonts, the advanced functions of transparency, imposition of styles, optical alignment and cross-platform scripts using JavaScript. Also for creation of scripts languages are supported Visual Basic and AppleScript.
InDesign is positioned by Adobe as the elite successor of Adobe PageMaker. InDesign are used by designers and maker-ups of the periodical press and books. InDesign is heart of tens of publishing systems for newspapers, magazines and other publishing environment. Using a relational database, Adobe InCopy uses the same engine of formatting as well as InDesign.
Adobe develops InDesign CS3 (and Creative Suite 3) as the universal double software compatible to platforms Intel and PowerPC Mac. The version of CS2 Mac has the code which is specially adapted for architecture of PowerPC and is not compatible to Intel processors in new machines Apple. Transfer of products on other platform was attempt. Adobe develops CS3 together with products Macromedia instead of repeatedly collecting CS2 and at the same time to advance CS3. The chief manager of Adobe Bruce Chizen announced that "Adobe will become the first software maker with a complete line of universal applications".
2005: Release of InDesign Server CS2
In October, 2005 Adobe released "InDesign Server CS2", the changed version of InDesign (without user interface) for Windows and the Macintosh server platforms. InDesign Server creates for use by developers in creation of solutions the client-server with technology of the program InDesign expansion. In March, 2007 Adobe officially announced Adobe of InDesign CS3 Server as a part of the InDesign Adobe family.
