2025: Performance "Compass-Composites"
On June 3, 2025, ASCON announced the upcoming release of the COMPASS-Composites system, designed for the design and preparation of the production of products from polymer composite materials. The commercial version will be released in the summer of 2025, with open beta testing starting in April.
COMPASS-Composites are focused on engine building, aircraft building, shipbuilding, rocket and space industry, transport and energy engineering - those industries where composites with their high characteristics of strength, lightness, corrosion resistance are in demand. The system allows you to design products taking into account the structure and properties of composite materials, which is impossible or extremely laborious in universal and classic machine building CAD. Engineers can model layers, packages and aggregates, perform drapability analysis, identify and eliminate layer layout defects, and prepare data for calculations and production.
The experimental use of COMPASS-Composites took place at ODK-Aviadvigatel JSC, where it was used to design a prototype part of the PD-14 aircraft engine. The technological preparation of the production and manufacture of the part was carried out by the Perm Mashinostroitel plant, which also uses the development of ASCON.
The creation of the first domestic CAD composites was carried out as part of the implementation of a particularly significant project of the Industrial Competence Center "Engine Building" in JSC "UEC-Aviadvigatel." This is an example of an effective government support measure, when a product developed for the tasks of a high-tech corporation enters the market and will be available to any industrial enterprise, including to replace foreign analogues, such as Fibersim from Siemens Digital Industries Software.
COMPASS-Composites is a completely import-independent solution based on ASCON own technologies: it works in a system environment, CAD KOMPAS-3D uses, materials geometric core C3D data are received from the management system of a regulatory reference information enterprise. POLYNOMINE: MDM The product will work on domestic operating systems as part of the Linux KOMPAS-3D v24 version, which will be released in 2025.
