The Case IH brand, owned by CNH Industrial, introduced a self-propelled tractor in the summer of 2017, which can perform basic agricultural work. The Case IH Magnum tractor does not have a cab where the driver can sit.
The Case IH Magnum tractor is designed to allow remote monitoring of preprogrammed operations. The on-board system automatically determines the size of the installed agricultural tool and determines the most effective ways to complete the task. The tractor considers features of the area, a relief, location of other cars in the field and other factors. Case IH Magnum is equipped with the laser radar, radars, dash video cameras. This equipment helps the tractor to scan the situation and, if obstacles arise, stop working. In addition, the tractor will stop working when a GPS signal or other location data is lost.
The operator can remotely monitor the operation of the tractor through a computer or tablet in real time, as well as configure new programs of work. The developers pay attention that such tractors can work on the same field with other agricultural machines - the same robots, or controlled by people[1].
mid-September 2016, a series of tests of the AgroBot unmanned tractor was carried out at one of the agricultural complexes of the Ryazan region. The company KB Aurora (Avrora robotics lab) proposes to conduct a series of test implementations of AgroBota and work out the main operations in unmanned mode through the use of battery life scenarios.
