2019: The HyperScale Appliance systems on the Fujitsu Primergy and Eternus servers

On April 10, 2019 the Fujitsu company announced expansion of a portfolio solutions based on the Commvault HyperScale Appliance systems, thereby providing to customers a wide choice of opportunities for data backup according to requirements of their business and budgets.

As noted in Fujitsu, hyper convergent the Commvault HyperScale Appliance systems are created based on the architecture with horizontal scaling unrolled on powerful servers Fujitsu PRIMERGY. Systems allow to satisfy customers needs in storage of constantly growing volumes data, providing a possibility of increase, both performance, and capacity and to optimize expenses practically also as when using cloud solutions, however in case of use of Commvault HyperScale Appliance crucial data are stored locally. Ample opportunities for scaling do these systems, according to the producer, by an optimal solution as for mid-size companies, so for large corporations, and also allow suppliers services to protect quickly growing amounts of data in the flexible mode.

According to representatives of Fujitsu, integration of the hardware of Fujitsu and the Commvault HyperScale Appliance systems reduces complexity of deployment of complete solutions for protection and data management. As of April, 2019 previously tested unified systems are supported by more than 200 technology platforms, including different operating systems, applications, data storage arrays, hypervisors and public cloud environments and also functions of backup taking into account features of the used applications, the maintaining databases and functions of complex automation. The companies can easily add the license for computing resources, resources of data storage and the software license within the subscriber agreement. Systems manage backup in different hybrid IT environments online and support the leading cloud platforms for data storage.

According to the statement of Fujitsu, the Commvault system are also compatible to the integrated Fujitsu ETERNUS CS200c systems. It provides simple accumulation of capacity. Besides, different options of the termless, flexible licensing which is not tied to the hardware of systems that allows the companies to update the hardware as required are provided and to transfer the available licenses for the new systems. a vmesta of the Commvault HyperScale Appliance system (with licensing on a subscription) and the Fujitsu ETERNUS CS200c systems (with termless licensing) provide to customers different options of scalability and commercial use in order that they could integrate systems at the choice within specially created infrastructure with support of cloud computing for backup and recovery.

The wide lineup of simple backup systems of Fujitsu in use guarantees that customers will be able to find the solution for data protection which completely conforms to their requirements and the budget – not only on indicators of speed of work, scalability and functionality, but also with a wide choice of models of licensing, claim in Fujitsu.

As of April, 2019 the Commvault HyperScale Appliance HS1300, HS3300 and Commvault Remote Office Appliance 1100 systems are already available to the order. Cost depends on a configuration.

According to the message of November 30, 2018 Commvault presented an expanded line of the solutions HyperScale Appliance which will replace outdated architecture of vertical scaling by the flexible and failsafe hardware-software platform in Moscow.

The expanded line of HyperScale Appliance offers models as with the reduced, and increased capacity which provide to clients more flexibility and freedom of choice. The model with the increased capacity provides the integrated horizontally scalable protection based on Commvault HyperScale Technology technology and a line of solutions for protection, management and use of data of Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery. The specialized device of smaller capacity is the integrated solution for remote office simplifying management of small branches within the centralized strategy of hybrid development of IT infrastructure which basis are more powerful Commvault HyperScale Appliance models.

Commvault HyperScale Technology

Commvault HyperScale Technology is the addition to Commvault Complete allowing to create horizontally scalable infrastructure of data storage on servers of standard architecture — X86. As of July 20, 2018, the solution is available in two options: Commvault Reference Architecture (based on servers partner alliance) or standard software licenses of Hyperscale.

For October, 2017 Commvault HyperScale Software is the horizontally scalable infrastructure on the basis of the equipment preferred by the customer allowing the companies to select a configuration and models of the equipment from such companies as Fujitsu, Cisco, Lenovo, HPE, Super Micro Computer, Huawei and Dell EMC. When using Commvault HyperScale Software customers receive the tested configuration on the basis of front lines the practician which is certified by Commvault. The solution is developed on the basis of advanced technologies of Commvault and allows customers to reduce complexity, expenses and to increase both the scalability, and dynamism of IT, claim in the company.
