Geoanalytics: how to ensure sustainable urban development. Capabilities of the Russian Geointellect platform

Research of geodata about people, as well as about various objects and locations allows you to get a lot of useful information for decision-making by city administrations. Knowledge of man in the context of the area ensures a more even and confident development of cities. Tasks to be solved

Geoanalytical platform to ensure the solution of state management tasks. In particular, the system helps answer the following questions that Smart Cities or Regions often raise:

Data visualization

Which geodata are visualized and counted in the system (as of October 2022):

  • number of households in the house
  • number of population (from region to home or location)
  • population density
  • new buildings a few years ago and their density
  • housing under construction and the number of apartments in them and their density
  • urban POI facilities, as aggregation from various sources and their density
  • model of population attraction by traffic generators
  • traffic model (signals of smartphones, operating systems for the use of mobile applications in the city)
  • calculating the level of income in the zones and comparing it with the mid-city real estate market
  • commercial premises are free, price, etc.

Availability of spatial data on all cities and regions of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

As of October 2022, spatial data on all cities and regions of Russia, as well as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, were uploaded to the geoinformation analytics system "Geointellect."

The platform is registered in the register of domestic software of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation (Order 665 of 30.11.2018), and performs the following tasks:

  • storing and visualizing geodata their display in the web interface
  • downloading geodata via a web or mobile application
  • click on the map
  • construction of zones (arbitrary, radius, radius with trimming, foot, transport)
  • listing geodata in zones in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint reports
  • overlay of geodata
  • simulation (different algorithms for different problems)
  • editing geodata
  • and others

An important feature of the system is that it is sold both as a service, as an API for other systems, and as a standalone - a solution to the customer's server.

The platform has an administration subsystem, setting roles and functions (entities) depending on tasks, thus the client receives that web application, with the maps, geodata and functions that he needs.

2018: Inclusion in the Register of Domestic Software

In 2018, the Geointellect platform was included in the register of domestic POMinkomsvyaz of the Russian Federation (Order 665 of 30.11.2018). At the same time, the Center for Spatial Research company conducted experiments with geodata of fiscal data operators (online cash registers).

2016: Simplified version of Geointellect cloud geoinformation service

In March 2016, the Lite version of the Geointellect cloud geo-information service was released. The systems are designed for those who need to count only the population. Among the data available in the geoservice are data on the population for more than 100 cities of Russia at different levels (households, polling stations, settlements). In the Lite version, you can use the tools "information at a point," "information at a radius" - the maximum radius size is 1000 meters. In addition, you can see information in the pedestrian zone from 0 to 30 minutes.

For the convenience of the client, the simplified system retains the ability to use several substrate cards. They facilitate the analysis of spatial geodata arrays, simplify viewing the coverage of houses in different cities of the country, noted in the "Center for Spatial Research." The creators of the Lite version also left the generation of reports on the system, saving and uploading them in XLSX and PDF format.

According to Denis Strukov, General Director of the Center for Spatial Research, unlike the professional version of Geointellect, aimed at large and medium-sized businesses, the Lite version was created specifically for small businesses and franchising enterprises.

The Geointellect geomarketing cloud system, which was installed in 2010, solves the retail problems of all segments: grocery, construction, banking, pharmaceutical, private clinics, online trading, etc. The system has been used especially actively in the past 3 years, more than 50 users are connected to it. In total, according to the Center for Spatial Research, more than 100 large and small business companies have used the system, and their number is growing. In addition to an analytical web application with data from 2GIS, Rosstat and other data providers, a mobile application for field research is also available, designed to facilitate the interaction of field employees and analysts using the web version of the product.

2014: Availability of spatial data on 100 cities and regions of Russia

As of December 2014, spatial data on 100 cities and regions were uploaded to the geoinformation analytics system "Geointellect." The amount of data downloaded varies and depends primarily on the location. For example, the population at polling stations is available in 70 cities. This kind of information is the only detailed direct (uncalculated) source in Russia.

The advantages in creating such systems are due to the convenience of their use. Data is not just broadcast over the Internet, it is presented as a web application. The user receives information right at the workplace using the browser and login, password. For marketers and analysts, Geointellect is useful for the ability to quickly load your own analytical data into the system. The geo-information system has two modes: online mode and client access. The user can pay for a specific request, for example, the population in the zone, radius, point, or charge a subscription fee from several months to a year.

When developing first a cloud, and then a full-fledged platform, we paid a lot of attention to the interface, the ease of working with a large number of geodata, the speed of generating reports in the zone. We spent many years and collected feedback from a dozen customers - from small to large. As a result, we received a web application designer with a map for geoanalysts and decision-makers, - said Denis Strukov, General Director of the Center for Spatial Research.

2013: Launch of the cloud service "Geointellect" for retail

Since 2013, the Center for Spatial Research company has been bringing to the market the geomarketing cloud service Geointellect for retail (to assess the location in Russian cities), the entire Russian Federation and further CIS countries are gradually covered .
