2022: Tier III Fault Tolerance Certification

PJSC MTS"" on June 28, 2022 announced that data center GreenBushDC, part of the MTS infrastructure network, passed certification an independent international institute in Uptime Institute terms of fault tolerance Tier III. This status confirms the high degree of reliability of the built facility for data the client companies located in it and equipment.

The current GreenBushDC data center module has passed certification in the Constructed Facility category, which includes 660 racks with a useful IT capacity of 3 MW and a total capacity of 6 MW as of June 2022. Previously, the data center has already received Tier III status at the design stage - Detailed Design from the Uptime Institute. Now an independent examination has confirmed the compliance with the requirements for performance and uptime in the real operating conditions of the existing data center.

2021: MTS bought the GreenBushDC data center for 5.2 billion rubles

On July 5, 2021, MTS announced the acquisition of the GreenBushDC data center for 5.2 billion rubles (taking into account the debts of the purchased company). The deal is closed.

MTS intends to use the resources of the GreenBushDC data center for colocation services, the own needs of the telecom operator and the development of the cloud provider CloudMTS, which provides more than 25 services for various business tasks. The MTS cloud ecosystem includes solutions in the format of private, public and hybrid clouds, a complex of consulting and professional services, data center services and telecom services.

MTS acquired the GreenBushDC data center for 5.2 billion rubles

Igor Egorov, Vice President for Infrastructure Development of MTS, noted that after the complete equipment of the data center, GreenBushDC will enter the top five Russian data centers in terms of capacity and will give MTS a tangible increase in capacity in the capital's market, which accounts for about 80% of the entire Russian data center services market. He, referring to some expert forecasts, added that the market for commercial data centers in Russia in 2021-2024. will grow by more than 20% per year.

By July 2021, the GreenBushDC data center is designed for a total design capacity of 19 MW, operation of 2280 racks in 24 halls with a total area of 5220 sq. m. The site on the basis of one of the three modules provides services to more than 200 customers. In the near future, it is planned to equip and put into operation the two remaining modules. The fault tolerance of the data center is confirmed by the Detailed Design certificate from the Uptime Institute for compliance with TIER III.

The GreenBushDC data center became the twelfth in the federal network of MTS data centers located in large Russian cities and regions: four centers in, To Moscow two in, Nizhny Novgorod one each in, Moscow region Leningrad Region,,, and To Samara. Novosibirsk Vladivostok MTS Krasnodar[1]

2020: Plans to invest about 2.8 billion rubles in the development of GreenBush DC

GDC Energy Group LLC, a resident of the Technopolice Moscow SEZ, plans to allocate about 2.8 billion rubles to the development of the GreenBush DC commercial data processing center (DPC) by 2023. This was reported on July 28, 2020 in the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow. As expected, these investments will increase the capacity of the data center by almost 3.5 times.

GreenBush DC is a project of GDC Energy Group LLC. The data center leases server racks and servers for storing and processing information arrays, and provides virtual storage services.

"The GreenBush DC data center, located at the Alabushevo site, is one of the top 15 largest data centers in Russia. The company has already allocated 3.7 billion rubles for the development of the data center and by the end of 2023 plans to invest about 2.8 billion rubles in the project. The SEZ resident supports the work of more than 200 companies. Among them are Russian microelectronics enterprises, cloud providers and representatives of the public sector. At the same time, the Alabushevo infrastructure allows you to increase volumes almost without restrictions, "said Alexander Prokhorov, head of the Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Department.

2018: Commissioning

At the end of April 2018, GDC Energy Group LLC presented the GreenBush DC data center for a total capacity of 21 MVA and the placement of 2280 racks. "The new data center is a single multi-component system that can ensure uninterrupted automated execution of business processes of the most demanding customers," said Niyazova Svetlana, General Director of GDC Energy Group.

GreenBush DC entered the market with a classic set of services for renting racks, dedicated servers, and hosting server cabinets. The site also allows you to place customer equipment in completely isolated rooms with a capacity of 50 to 110 racks. The provision of cloud services is also promising for the new commercial data center. "One of the key activities of GreenBush DC, we see the development of cloud services such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, including on the OpenStack platform.

The data center is located on the territory of the special economic zone of the city of Moscow, at the Alabushevo site in the administrative district of Zelenograd. This location of the facility is also relevant for organizing a backup site if the client's main data center is located in Moscow. SEZ resident status provides GDC Energy Group with economic advantages, including zero customs duties, a reduced rate on profits and tax benefits. "This allows you to significantly reduce the cost of services, which, in turn, has a positive effect on the formation of prices, making our offer as attractive as possible for customers," Svetlana Niyazova emphasized.

The data center building is organized according to the modular principle, which makes it possible to optimize capital expenditures and allocate the necessary area as the data center is filled. At the first stage, six machine rooms with a total capacity of 660 racks are put into operation. At the second and third stages, it is planned to build nine more machine rooms - 810 stand-by seats at each stage. It is possible to install both standard server cabinets up to 48U height and equipment with non-standard dimensions in the halls. The power of an individual cabinet can reach up to 20 kW.

The engineering infrastructure of the facility was built using the most modern, energy-efficient technical solutions. Thus, to ensure uninterrupted power supply, dynamic UPS with a capacity of 1.67 kVA each are installed. Distribution networks are made on the basis of bus ducts. In the unit, which is put into operation in the first stage, a classic chiller scheme is used. In other units (subsequent steps) the installation of adiabatic cooling systems is provided. The engineering infrastructure of the data center fully complies with the TIER III requirements according to the Uptime Institute classification, the TIER III stage Design certificate has been obtained, a contract for the Construction Facility certification has been concluded.

The data center is equipped with physical security, including a multi-level access control and control system. A total of four levels of access to the turbine rooms are provided. In addition, the territory has an additional, fifth level of access - this is the security perimeter of the special economic zone of the Alabushevo site. At the client's request, a partition-off can be arranged in the machine room for his equipment with an additional level of control of physical access to it under the control of the client.
