2025: Cloud Integrator Launch

MTS Web Services (MWS) on March 14, 2025 announced the launch of a cloud integrator. This structural division will allow MWS to comprehensively carry out large projects for the digital transformation of Russian companies: from consulting and developing a digital transformation program to its implementation and further technical support for the customer's IT infrastructure and IT systems. Projects will be implemented in four key competence centers: private solutions in the IT infrastructure, the implementation of business applications, projects in the field of data management and artificial intelligence, as well as professional services and IT outsourcing. Evgeny Belov has been appointed head of the integrator.

Within the framework of infrastructure solutions, cloud integrator specialists will deploy private, hybrid and multi-cloud environments of any complexity, containerization management platforms and other infrastructure solutions for customers. For each company, a unique cluster of computing infrastructure is created, adapted to the specifics of the business and taking into account the peculiarities of its IT landscape. If necessary, the virtual infrastructure can be deployed in several availability zones, which will make it as fault tolerant as possible.

For companies that have a need to introduce artificial intelligence and BI into their business processes, a stream of "data and AI" was created within the integrator. Its experts develop specialized AI models for the needs of customers. One of the main activities will be the introduction of computer vision technologies in industry, including systems for quality control, safety monitoring and facility access control. In addition, MWS experts will be able to deploy a number of services for the safe storage and processing of a large amount of data. All stream solutions are like a single ecosystem for storing and analyzing data: from collecting and cleaning them to storing and analyzing them using BI and AI.

To create a digital ecosystem in the office and optimize the work of employees, the integrator's specialists will implement platform solutions and business applications. MWS experts will help you audit business processes and choose the most optimal solution for their automation and optimization. Companies will have access to individual installations of virtual desktops, collaboration solutions, platforms for robotizing routine processes, accumulating user experience, BPM, ERP-, CSP-, CRM systems and solutions for electronic document management, including KEDO and UWEDO, and the introduction of omnichannel service support systems.

IT infrastructures Customers will be able to outsource routine setup and support operations to the cloud integrator professional services team. As part of this stream, the integrator's experts will conduct individual testing of the customer's infrastructure, help identify its weaknesses and give recommendations for improving IT systems. MWS specialists will also be able to fully support the customer's IT infrastructure and help with cases related to the application of CI/CD practices and advanced technologies in containerization and acceleration of development.

Many Russian companies need not just a set of services, but to solve specific turnkey problems. They need infrastructure and services tailored to their needs, deployed specifically for them, taking into account their individual needs and business characteristics. The launch of the cloud integrator will allow us to close all customer needs related to IT systems: from the first consultation on the possibility of developing the client's infrastructure to a complete migration to the cloud and technical support for the workplaces of employees of the organization. Especially for this, we have multiplied the staff of specialists working with complex projects. In those areas where we do not have enough expertise, we will attract partners. These are leading vendors and integrators in their industries. In total, we have more than 50 of them, - said Igor Zarubinsky, vice president for infrastructure development at MTS.

MTS Web Services revenue for the year increased by 31%

According to Igor Zarubinsky, Vice President for Infrastructure Development at MTS and General Director of MTS Web Services, one of the main trends in the Russian cloud market is the transfer of data from foreign virtual infrastructure to the Russian one. Against this background, the company is building new data centers, opening additional availability zones and launching modern services. In particular, in 2024, MTS Web Services deployed more than 15 cloud services. In addition, the creation of its own public cloud platform has begun, the full launch of which is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.

Moving MTC Web Services into a standalone company

On December 18, 2024, it became known that MTS is restructuring, within the framework of which IT divisions and the cloud business are allocated to an independent organization. We are talking about changing the structure of the MWS division (MTC Web Services), originally formed in 2021.

The newspaper Kommersant tells about the reorganization of MTS, referring to information received from knowledgeable persons. It is assumed that MWS will turn into an independent IT market player - a single technology company that will unite MTS teams responsible for cloud services and big data, as well as AI technologies. The MWS structure is expected to include MTS Digital, MTS AI, Big Data, VisionLabs (smart vision systems), cybersecurity division, as well as innovation assets. At the same time, no changes are planned in the composition of the listed groups themselves.

MTS has separated the cloud business into a separate company

It is noted that the first vice-president of MTS for technologies Pavel Voronin may be appointed the head of MWS. According to market participants, the revenue of the new structure by 2030 may amount to 230 billion rubles. MWS's entry into the stock exchange is also not excluded. Earlier, MTS President Vyacheslav Nikolaev spoke about the possibility of holding an initial public offering (IPO) of four to five subsidiaries as part of the MTS ecosystem.

An analyst at Finam GC Leonid Delitsyn "" believes that after the restructuring, MTS may attract a strategic investor to the IT direction, "the financial resource of which will be used until the stock market begins to highly evaluate new issuers again." Independent telecom analyst Alexei Slukin notes that the withdrawal of the group's IT-Business into a separate company will not only allow it to be IPO, but will also provide more freedom in the implementation of projects.[1]

As the press service of the telecom operator notes, the import-substituted cloud is suitable for companies that have a need to use domestic technologies. According to an Interfax source, MTS will continue to develop telecom products on the infrastructure of the created subsidiary. At the same time, the new company will use the infrastructure to create new digital products and independently offer them to the external market.

The MVS has the potential to become a technological foundation for the accelerated development and launch of advanced mass services in the field of smart cities, cloud computing unmanned, transport digital medicine, etc., the head of MTS said earlier. Vyacheslav Nikolaev

According to one of the sources of Vedomosti, the allocation of infrastructure business and new services to a separate company will contribute to the growth of MTS capitalization and will allow the sale of new services to other operators.[2]

MTS will allocate network infrastructure and data centers to the new company

On May 20, 2021, it became known about the decision of MTS to create a new company in order to transfer most of its infrastructure to it, including mobile and fixed communication networks, switching equipment, as well as cloud business and data centers.

The new structure is called MTS Web Services. As MTS President Vyacheslav Nikolaev told Vedomosti, MGTS will also enter it. He did not name the head of the new company. It is planned to reorganize during 2021.

The change in the structure of the business is expected to allow MTS to more efficiently promote the digital services already provided (for example, cloud computing and data storage) and bring new ones to the market faster.

I am convinced that the new company will develop at an accelerated pace due to synergy of areas and simplification of corporate procedures, - said Vyacheslav Nikolaev.

The source of the publication, familiar with MTS managers, says that traditional communication services, for example, mobile telephony and Internet access, based on the infrastructure of the subsidiary, will be provided by the "big" MTS itself. The company will develop new digital services itself and offer them to external customers, the source said.

According to the source of the newspaper, who is familiar with the developers of the reorganization project, in this way MTS will immediately solve several issues.

File:Aquote1.png
It is extremely difficult to develop and implement innovative products in a mass market-oriented company, there is a constant clash of business approaches - it is better to make such products on a separate site, he stressed.

Also, according to him, the allocation of infrastructure business and new services will lead to an increase in the capitalization of MTS. Finally, bringing new services into a separate company will allow them to be sold to other operators.[3]
