The efficiency of the center for monitoring and responding to cyber attacks is ensured by extensively used cybersecurity technologies, well-functioning interaction processes, as well as expertise of cyber threat analysts. The growing number of cybersecurity experts in the MTS RED SOC staff will provide customers with an increase in the quality of service and responsiveness to cyber attacks.

We are actively developing MTS RED SOC both in terms of protection technologies and personnel. Using the services of an external monitoring center allows companies to get a working function for round-the-clock detection of cyber threats in the shortest possible time and removes from customers the task of hiring their own staff of cybersecurity specialists, their training and retention. This is a significant problem, especially in the regions. According to the data, the Ministry of Digital Development Russia shortage of personnel in IT-in industries to the country is 500-700 thousand people, and according to the study ANO "Digital Economy" and the portal, in the information hh.ru security segment this demand is one of the highest, - said Ilnaz Gataullin, technical director of the MTS RED SOC cyber attack monitoring and response center of MTS RED.

Since the beginning of 2024, the MTS RED SOC cyber attack monitoring and response center has repelled about 50 thousand hacker attacks - 57% more than in the previous half of the year. At the same time, the total number of highly critical attacks that can cause long-term downtime or damage in the amount of a million rubles increased by 66% in 2024. The largest share of highly critical attacks (69%) fell on critical information infrastructure. Also, noticeable shares of serious attacks fell on the media (12%) and IT companies (10%).

In addition, MTS RED plans to actively cooperate with leading universities in the points of regional presence. The purpose of such cooperation is practical preparation of students of IT specialties to work in the field of information security - in particular, in the role of analysts of the first line of MTS RED SOC, who conduct the initial processing of information about suspicious events in the IT infrastructures of customers according to previously developed instructions.
