History
2025: Construction of a plant for the production of protein bars together with Ipsum for 250 million rubles
In mid-November 2025, it became known that the medical company Bioniq and the manufacturer of biologically active additives (dietary supplement) Ipsum are implementing a project to build a joint plant. It is planned to produce protein bars, soufflé and electrolyte marmalade.
According to the Vedomosti newspaper, investments in the creation of the enterprise will amount to about 250 million rubles. Partners are considering several possible locations for the construction of the facility: the plant can be located in the Moscow region, in the Volga region or in the Caucasus.
It is assumed that the capacity of the factory at the initial stage will be 1,500 tons, or 30 million snacks per year. In the future, the volume of production will increase - as the range expands and market positions strengthen. A Bioniq spokesman said fitness snacks will go on sale in 2026. The products are planned to be distributed through the online stores of the manufacturers themselves, as well as marketplaces. In addition, the products will appear in offline retail.
On the one hand, as noted by the DSM Group, dietary supplements manufacturers rarely enter the food market, since this requires other equipment and relevant documentation. However, on the other hand, as indicated by the Union of Dietary Supplement Manufacturers (SRO SP Dietary Supplement), the segments of additives and functional nutrition are similar in terms of competencies and capacity. Therefore, the joint venture of Bioniq and dietary supplements Ipsum, according to experts from SRO SP Dietary Supplement, will be able to take a share in the segment, subject to investments in the promotion of new products, including high-quality advertising. Protein products attract consumers who pay attention to a healthy lifestyle: such people increasingly include functional snacks in their diet.[1]
