2023: Data breach of millions of customers

On July 18, 2023, it became known about the leakage of data from millions of customers of the Intourist tour operator. The company itself denied the leak of information, but confirmed the cyber attack.

Indeed, last week our portal and production system were subjected to a strong DDoS attack. As a result, users had difficulties with issuing and printing documents for tours within a few hours, the company's press service told TASS on July 18, 2023.

The hacking of the Intourist website was reported by the Information Leaks Telegram channel. According to him, hackers from DumpForums and UHG were involved in the attack. The text file they received contained 5,507,954 lines containing:

• Full name (including first/last name in Latin);
• telephone (about 119 thousand unique numbers in total);
• address;
• date of birth;
• gender;
• citizenship and place of birth;
• series/passport number (including foreign), date of issue/end;
• tour date.

As the administrators of the Telegram channel noted, the data is "littered," since there are many invalid records among them.

Intourist said that the system affected by the cyber attack was restored as soon as possible. To ensure security, all users were unilaterally issued a new temporary password for their personal account, the company added.

There was no drain. DDoS attacks made the site difficult, but the system resisted, although there were failures in operation. However, within a few hours they were all restored, - said the tour operator at the request of RIA Novosti to comment on the information that allegedly the data of his customers leaked to the network.[1]
