History

2024: MTS increased its share from 49% to 55% in Infomatika

On December 11, 2024, it became known that MTS increased its share in the developer of Infomatika smart turnstiles from 49% to 55%. There is no information about the value of the transaction as of the specified date.

According to Interfax, the agreement was concluded between MTS Artificial Intelligence Center LLC (a subsidiary of MTS) and Infomat LLC, which provides services under the Infomatika brand. As a result of the transaction, MTS gained control over this enterprise. The remaining 45% of the company is owned by David Tartakovsky.

MTS gained control over the developer of smart turnstiles "Infomatika"

Infomatics has been operating on the Russian IT market since 1996. It is engaged in the development and production of software and hardware systems and interactive systems for various purposes. These include:

  • Ticket and access systems for sports facilities and professional sports clubs, museums, theaters, amusement parks, expocentres;
  • Public transport fare control systems;
  • Specialized access control and control equipment - turnstiles, gates, control automation;
  • Information and payment terminals and interactive equipment.

It is argued that such solutions are applied in the field of state and banking services, educational institutions, at the facilities of sports, cultural, entertainment and transport infrastructure. The company has a production complex in Kazan, optimized for design and serial production of its own products. In addition, there is a design bureau. Services are offered for the creation of ticket systems, solutions of specialized and paid access, systems for transport projects, etc. Ticket and pass complexes manufactured by Infomatika are used in Russia, and are also supplied abroad.[1]

2023: MTS bought 49% of Infomatika

On March 10, 2023, MTS announced the purchase of 49% of Infomat, which operates under the Infomatika brand on the market. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

According to Interfax, citing data from the SPARK-Interfax system, Infomat's share was bought by MTS subsidiary MTS Center for Artificial Intelligence (MTS AI) from Infomat CEO David Tartakovsky, who still has 51% of the developer of smart turnstiles and ticket systems.

For Infomatics acquisition of MTS share - opportunity to enter new markets and develop international business

MTS reported that the integration of Infomatics developments in the field of access control, including its own line of turnstiles and payment terminals with technologies for face recognition and face payment systems VisionLabs (a subsidiary of MTS AI) will allow implementing projects for the transport industry, sports and cultural facilities, educational organizations. Both companies have experience in the foreign markets of the Middle East and Latin America, where they plan to continue working together, MTS emphasized.

It is noted that Infomatika has its own design bureau and production complex for the design and serial production of its own products. By March 2023, the company had implemented more than 200 projects, in particular, Infomatics technologies were used to build a system for controlling audience access to world sports arenas.[2]
