Availability of the application "I am a schoolboy" for all students of Tatarstan

On September 30, 2020, it became known that 447,000 Tatarstan schoolchildren got access to a digital assistant - the super service "I am a schoolboy." From September 30, the application can be downloaded on iOS and Android platforms in two languages at once: Russian and Tatar.

Superservice "I am a schoolboy" is a personal digital assistant to children in their educational and extracurricular activities. The service was created on the initiative of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. With its help, the guys can use the electronic edu.tatar.ru diary, see the dynamics of their academic performance, as well as receive hints about which items need to be directed more attention. The service helps students plan homework competently, and also shows them comments from the teacher and reports on the topic of the lesson.

The pilot version of the application was launched among 500 schoolchildren in 7 districts of the Republic on September 1. Students of grades 5-10 from 10 Tatarstan schools took part in testing:

  • "Gymnasium No. 3" (Zelenodolsky district);
  • "Gymnasium No. 1" (Laishevsky district);
  • "Gymnasium No. 7" (city Kazan, Novo-Savinovsky district);
  • "School No. 77" (Kazan, Aircraft Building District);
  • "School No. 39" (Kazan, Vakhitovsky district);
  • "Gymnasium No. 6" (Kazan, Volga region);
  • "Lyceum Innopolis" (g Innopolis.);
  • "Engineering Lyceum" (g Almetyevsk.);
  • "School No. 10 with in-depth study of individual subjects" (g Nizhnekamsk.);
  • "School No. 41" (Naberezhnye Chelny).

On the one hand, such initial testing helped developers clearly see how the service works "live" and understand what new features should be added to future versions. On the other hand, schoolchildren got the opportunity to join the process of creating an application.

Schoolchildren admit that the most relevant and useful for them is the functions of the built-in electronic diary and schedule: everything necessary for study is always at hand. In addition, the guys say, the application helps them see a picture of their academic performance and correctly place accents when organizing the educational process. Teachers note that the new service is very convenient, since it is a fast and mobile way of communicating with schoolchildren, and students can always see why they receive this or that assessment.

In future versions of the super service, functionality will appear that will help students in a playful way to build an understanding of their interests and receive motivation to achieve success in school life. The service will become a direct delivery channel for useful and important notifications about events taking place both within the walls of the school and in the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition, the following versions of the I am a schoolboy application are planned to be integrated with the upcoming Ak Bars Bank application - the Educational Card 2.0 parent channel. Thanks to the new service, parents of students will be able to receive information in their personal account about when the child came to school, or, for example, find out the menu in the school canteen today, as well as adjust the child's diet. Now 126 thousand users are registered in this system.

Our ministry is working to digitalize the education of Tatarstan. For less than three months, high-speed Internet was carried out in 1,045 schools in the republic. In the academic year, 447 thousand children will be provided with the Internet using fiber-optic fiber technologies. In order to further transform the educational process, we have developed a digital assistant - the "I am a schoolboy" service. At the development stage and at the launch stage, we adhere to the format of interaction with residents of the republic. The application is created taking into account the needs of the target audience and is finalized together with users.

During testing, the developers will keep the opposite with schoolchildren: communication schoolchildren will be able to share their impressions of using the application and offer their chips. All communication will take place in a special - Telegram channel and Telegram chat.

"I'm a schoolboy"

On the one hand, preliminary testing will help developers clearly see whether the service is convenient to use, understand what needs to be improved in the project before launching it, and what elements and functions should be added to the next versions. And on the other hand, this will give the schoolchildren themselves a chance to see the IT kitchen from the inside.

For September 2020, we are at the very beginning of the journey, as our digital team takes a product approach in the development of services. And before creating a large and complex system, you need to run pilots to clearly see how the service works "live" with users. This practice will help to more accurately identify and develop the necessary functionality.
