Web content filtering systems based on vendor solutions can be deployed on three levels: personal computer, gateway and operator (creating a multicentric platform through clustering). The new version of KinderGate Parental Control adds support for Linux and MacOS operating systems, which allows you to install the product in any school, including those that use computers with free software or Apple. Thus, now, after adding support for these operating systems, any school can provide high-quality Internet filtering at any level.
Entensys solutions are built on a combination of all possible Internet filtering methods, including the use of categorized site databases, real-time content analysis, secure search, file download control, and other methods. Entensys products meet all the requirements of the FZ-436 "On the Protection of Children from Information Harmful to Their Health and Development" and FZ-139 "On Black Lists," provide filtering on the lists of prohibited resources of RosComNadzor and the Ministry of Justice. Developer filtering technologies are adapted to the Russian language and can become an effective tool for ensuring the safe work of school students on the global network.
The vendor's products are already used in thousands of educational institutions, as well as in joint projects with the Megafon operator.
KinderGate Parental Controls 1.1
The new version of the product has a Safe Search feature. Thus, KinderGate is able to block requests of a dubious nature in the search engines Yandex, Google and others.
An additional layer of protection against the undue influence of the Internet now provides morphological analysis of electronic resources. The user can turn on scanning in the categories "Bad Words," "Pornography" and "Games."
To prevent communication with unwanted interlocutors, KinderGate Parental Control 1.1 implemented message monitoring in various network messengers. The software product supports ICQ, Jabber, MSN, Mail.ru, YMSG protocols. In addition, KinderGate allows you to follow the child's correspondence on social networks VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and Facebook. When viewing the message history, it is possible to select the time period and the required protocol.
From the transition of children to resources of dubious content, the contextual advertising filter available in the web surfing settings also protects. This functionality will be no less useful for parents - banners that appear on a huge number of sites most often do not bring positive emotions.
KinderGate Parental Controls 1.2
At the request of users, a special category "Filter for schools" has been added to the new version of KinderGate in the settings of "Morphological analysis." According to the developers, the innovation allows children to control access to Internet resources containing words from the list prohibited for schools. In addition, KinderGate Parental Controls 1.2 provides the ability to edit a "bad word dictionary" using a special utility, Entensys said. Also, the developers carried out careful work to improve the compatibility of KinderGate with various antiviruses.
Specialists of the independent information and analytical center "Anti-malware" conducted an examination of the KinderGate Parental Control software solution. KinderGate Parental Controls 1.2 and the Linux version of the product fell under the microscope.
KinderGate Parental Control is designed for home users and educational institutions and allows you to control the use of the Internet by underage children. The center's experts assessed changes in the performance of the product depending on the use of certain functions of the product. A special list of both prohibited resources and safe sites (whitelist) was prepared for testing.
The expertise consisted of three stages: The use of an electronic resource base; Database + "Safe Search"; Base + "Safe Search" + "Morphological Analysis."
At each of the testing stages, the following indicators were evaluated: The effectiveness of blocking unwanted resources found through search engines, Google Yandex and Bing; The number of false positives on the white list.
According to the results of the KinderGate examination, Parental Control, with default settings, blocks 99.75% (Windows) of malicious sites found through the Google and Yandex search engines. The false response rate of the whitelist solution does not exceed 2.2% (Windows) and 3.5% (Linux). Most of the erroneously blocked sites belong to the controversial Advertising category.
KinderGate Parental Controls 1.4
One of the main features of the new version of the solution was the emergence of the possibility of introducing KinderGate into the system of any Internet provider. For this, Entensys specialists have developed a special API that allows, among other things, to automatically renew the validity of licenses of users who have subscribed to the service in their personal account.
KinderGate Parental Controls 1.4. uses the updated site filtering technology Entensys URL Filtering 2.0, which can be found in more detail in a special section of our site. The system of working with Internet messengers and social networks has undergone a change. Work has been done to improve the performance and fault tolerance of the product. KinderGate Parental Control has also been localized to Spanish.
KinderGate Parental Controls 1.5
The main feature of the new version is the fairly strict pre-installed product settings. In KinderGate Parental Controls, in addition to the maximum filtering level by category, the following functions are activated:
- "safe search" - allows you to block unwanted queries at the search engines level;
- "morphological analysis" - prohibits access to electronic resources based on morphological analysis of web pages.
Sites undergo multi-step validation at the request, category, and content level. The simultaneous use of several filtering technologies ensures a high degree of protection of the child from unwanted content, for example, resources about suicide, drugs and extremism. Not only sites are analyzed, but also user comments, posts on forums and social networks. KinderGate Parental Control 1.5 also added "white" lists of general education resources. In addition, the dictionaries for the morphological analysis function have been updated.
KinderGate Parental Controls 1.52
The main feature of the new version is the ability to automatically update sites on the list of resources prohibited by the Ministry of Justice. Working with lists of Internet resources prohibited at the legislative level is a requirement of the Regulators for web filters. In order to simplify the procedure for updating data to effectively block illegal sites, KinderGate Parental Control 1.52 implements the ability to automatically update prohibited URLs from the lists of the Ministry of Justice.
KinderGate Parental Control 3.0 - HTTPs filtering, clustering and multi-platform
The updated product filters HTTPs traffic, has a more convenient and intuitive interface and runs on Linux and Mac OS.
KinderGate works with lists of sites and materials prohibited at the federal level (including the Department of Justice), ensuring that all requirements of legislation in the field of Internet filtering (for educational institutions) are met. Due to the possibility of updating (new) dictionaries (in Russian, English, German, Japanese and Arabic) and sets of Internet resources, the solutions databases are maintained in the most up-to-date state.
This version of the product works with Linux and Mac OS * operating systems. The ability to install KinderGate in a cluster allows you to centrally manage the solution on multiple computers, thereby creating all the conditions for deploying filtering systems of any size based on the product.
