2023: Equipping the robot with a kamikaze drone "BAS-80"

The Marker.ru robot will receive the small-sized BAS-80 kamikaze drone. About this "RIA Novosti" said the executive director of the company - the developer of NPO "Android Technique" Evgeny Dudorov in mid-April 2023. These robots are used in a military special operation in Ukraine.

By mid-April 2023, specialists are working on "Marker.ru" technologies for launching a drone, control and delivery to the target with high accuracy. The drone without a warhead weighs 1.7 kg, the potential volume of the warhead is about 600 g with the ability to increase, the flight range is up to 30 km, in flight the drone can be up to 18 minutes. According to Dudorov, these drones are lighter and cheaper than those used by April 2023 in the Russian army, but "their tasks are simpler."

We created our own aircraft-type drone, while the development has the working name "BAS-80"... Initially, this UAV was created to equip the "Marker." For the first time we launched it from this platform, - said the executive director of the NGO Android Technology.

In early March 2023, it was reported that the first four Marker.rus sent to Donbass for testing, in particular, for practicing cargo delivery, and the use of an optical-electronic module with a payload. To do this, it was planned to use two of the four samples.

"Marker.ru" was developed by the company "Android Technology" together with the Fund for Advanced Research in Cooperation with the leading scientific teams of the country. The robotic complex weighing about three tons, according to the developers, has the most advanced autonomous movement skills in Russia with object recognition based on artificial intelligence technologies. The autonomy of the platform is ensured by a modular multi-spectral vision system, data in which neural network algorithms are processed.[1]

Creating a version of the robot sharpened for a special operation

At the end of September 2022, it became known about the creation of a new version of the Marker.ru robot to help in a military special operation that Russia is conducting in Ukraine. An informed source told RIA Novosti about the refinement of the technology.

The robot will be designed both for work in urban conditions and in the front zone. The conditional "Marker.ru-2," according to the interlocutor of the agency, will be aimed at at least three tasks: protection, elimination of the consequences of emergency situations and support work in combat conditions, taking into account the needs of the troops identified during the current special operation.

By the end of September 2022, enterprises participating in cooperation on this project and weapons systems that will be installed on Marker.ru-2 are determined. In addition, three "Marker.rus" have already been transferred to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, where robots are adapted for the tasks of eliminating and preventing emergencies, including extinguishing fires of various types and difficulties, RIA Novosti reports.

The robotic complex "Marker.ru" was developed as part of the project of the Advanced Research Fund. The platform has a mass of about three tons, can be equipped with various weapons. The development has the most advanced autonomous movement skills in Russia with object recognition based on artificial intelligence technologies.

As the manufacturer notes, the autonomy of the platform is ensured by a modular multi-spectral vision system, the development of data in which is carried out by neural network algorithms. For three years, key technologies were created, as well as two wheeled and three tracked autonomous platforms equipped with a unified payload module and a cassette launch module for unmanned flying vehicles.[2]

Presentation of the robot "Marker.ru" for the protection of ground objects

Roscosmos on August 15, 2022 presented the robot "Marker.ru" for the protection of ground objects.

The robot was developed by the key partner of the Okhrana Scientific and Production Center - the Android Technology Scientific and Production Association.

One of the key technologies of Marker.ru is traction electric drives, which allow robotic platforms to develop large speed and high traction characteristics. The technologies also allow the installation of universal payload modules that can detect fast-flying objects in real time, accompany them and hit them using small arms.

The main task of Marker.ru should be round-the-clock patrols of Roscosmos infrastructure, detection and interception of unmanned aerial vehicles and other types of violators [3].

2019: Demonstration trials

On October 11, 2019, it became known that specialists from the Android Technology research and production association will conduct demonstration tests of the Marker.ru universal platform of combat robots. According to the fund, the tests will take place on October 15-17, 2019 in Magnitogorsk.

The Advanced Research Fund (FPI) and the Android Technology NGO have been implementing an intellectual military equipment project since March 2018. As part of the first stage, two tracked platforms were created to practice ground robotics technologies. These platforms are equipped with two modules - payload and cassette launch of drones.

As reported, as of October 2019, the world's leading countries are developing various robots. It is believed that such devices will significantly reduce their own losses during the battle, as well as more effectively conduct reconnaissance and strike at enemy targets.

Demonstration tests of the robotic platform "Marker.ru" will be carried out following the results of the first stage of its development. At this stage, two tracked robotic platforms were created, equipped with a unified payload module and a cassette module for launching unmanned aerial vehicles - small quadcopters.

The platforms of the Marker.ru project are planned to be used to develop ground robotics technologies.

The unified payload module is equipped with an optoelectronic detection and observation system and has six independent degrees of rotation. Two types of payload can be installed on it. Which ones are not specified. Both payloads can be used independently of each other.

The robot can be equipped with a 12.7 millimeter machine gun and a grenade launcher, two anti-tank missile launchers and a machine gun or machine gun with a grenade launcher, probably 40 millimeters.

In turn, the cassette module for launching drones allows you to launch a small group of drones. These devices can act both together and separately. Devices and ground platform can exchange target designation data and information about detected objects.

The platform is designed on a modular basis. In the future, such a technical solution will allow you to quickly replace the payload, surveillance systems, as well as modernize the robot.[4]

The autonomy of platforms is ensured by a modular multi-spectral vision system, the development of data in which is carried out by the most modern neural network algorithms.

According to the FPI, during the demonstration, the movement of the robotic complex along a given route along rough terrain, movement in autonomous mode with the identification and detour of obstacles, and the launch of unmanned aerial vehicles from the vehicle in autonomous mode were carried out.

Modular solutions, the technologies of which are developing during the project, should provide a new level of unification of the basic elements of robotic complexes and the expansion of their functional capabilities, the FPI said.

The platform receives full awareness of the surrounding space at a distance of more than one hundred meters, which makes it possible to timely adjust the movement under the control of the operator without his direct intervention.

This platform is expected to be the basis for working out the joint interaction of ground robots, unmanned aircraft and special forces.[5]
