2017: Inclusion of Kaspersky Lab in Whitelist
On October 27, 2017, ASCON announced the conclusion of a cooperation agreement with Kaspersky Lab. The first result was the verification of Pilot design management products for the absence of malicious code and their inclusion in the pure software knowledge base, or Whitelist.
Pilot-ICE, Pilot-ICE Enterprise, and Pilot-ECM systems on the global whitelist do not require regular security software review. This saves the user's computer resources by increasing the performance of the systems themselves. Minimizes the number of security software calls with requests that distract from work, and reduces the burden on system administration.
In the process of publishing beta versions and Pilot releases, distributions are sent to the Kaspersky Lab server for verification and whitelisting. As of October 27, 2017, Pilot is already included in the updated pure software base. To obtain this database, access to Kaspersky Security Network must be activated in the security solution.
How does it work
When you try to run a file, the file is first checked against a local whitelist created by your company administrator. Such a list is extremely necessary, since many specialized software is often installed in corporate networks, and attackers try to fake malware for legitimate ones.
If the file you are running is not found in the allowed list, it is scanned to the cloud where the Whitelist global database is located. In this case, only metadata is received in the cloud, such as, for example, the checksum of the file, but not the software itself. The results of the check are immediately sent back along with useful analytical information about the file, including its category, for example: driver, operating system, browser, multimedia, etc. Thus, the network administrator receives complete external expert information about a previously unknown object in automatic mode.
Then the file is either allowed to run or prevented according to the network security policies configured by the administrator.
2015: Pilot-ICE Enterprise
On October 21, 2015, ASCON announced the launch of the Pilot-ICE Enterprise system for managing construction project participants
This is the corporate version of the project data management system, which will allow solving the problems of collective work on projects, reliable storage of data and will open up opportunities for individual customization of tools, creation of unique reports, will provide "seamless" interaction with counterparties at the level of bilateral electronic document management, import of projects and attributes.
Composition of Pilot-ICE Enterprise (2015)
The product is focused on various formats of the project business - from medium-sized engineering companies and design departments of industrial enterprises to parent design institutes as part of industry holdings.
Pilot-ICE Enterprise is focused on efficient, comprehensive automation of the main business processes:
- planning and project management,
- management of the performing discipline,
- organization of collective work in the creation of design and estimate documentation,
- coordination of documents within the organization,
- enterprise content management of the project organization,
- interaction with contractors and customers,
- analysis of reported data.
Inter-organizational electronic document management
Pilot-ICE Enterprise implements inter-organizational electronic document flow ("designer-customer," "designer-developer," etc.), through which coordination or examination of projects is ensured. This level of workflow is made possible using export/import commands in the Project Explorer.
Through the export/import functionality, it becomes more convenient and faster - to exchange documents with counterparties, to execute legally significant electronic document flow using an electronic signature. This mechanism, aimed at accelerating the processes of information exchange, can be used by organizations that are engaged in the examination of project documentation, both state and non-state.
Project Release Automation
- Using the XPS format allows you to reflect the document on any computer as it was created by the author and what it will look like on paper.
- The electronic signature protects the document from changes or distortions, which means that the document will be displayed on paper without problems.
- For easy and quick printing of the entire project or many related documents, the "batch printing" function is available to users. It helps you configure the automatic selection of printers and trays with paper of the desired formats, control the order of printing, and track the status of the printing process.
Electronic documents use barcode and text labeling commands. An urgent search for a document released weeks earlier will be quick if there is a barcode on the printed copy - its use not only reduces the time for searching for documents in the database, but ensures one hundred percent compliance of the found document with its paper copy. For this, use text labels, which are used, for example, for registration numbers or any other attributes necessary for displaying in the document.
The search for data in any information system is an important question, and for design estimates, replete with graphic data, it is even more serious. After all, you have to look not only for text and table documents, but also for drawings. Pilot-ICE Enterprise contains a number of technologies that can perform several types of searches:
- full-text search by the content of documents of the.xps,.pdf,.dwfx formats. It allows, without opening the file for viewing, to find the document (s) in which the specified word is mentioned.
- geometric search - selects metal structure nodes by geometry in documents of.xps and.dwfx format. This technology has the potential to analyze the complexity of projects.
- search by attributes - familiar functionality.
Management reports
If only standard reports are available in the basic version of Pilot-ICE, then in Pilot-ICE Enterprise the user is provided with a convenient report designer with which to create individual forms.
Developer Kit (SDK)
With the API, you can create the necessary "extensions" (modules) in the work of a particular organization. The Pilot-ICE API is characterized by a popular planning module - Rubius Project Manager. It is integrated into the Pilot-ICE system.
The SDK does not require separate licensing and can be used for both Pilot-ICE Enterprise and Pilot-ICE. However, technical support for developing extensions will only be provided to Pilot-ICE Enterprise users.
You can test Pilot-ICE Enterprise in business by downloading the system from the official website: the novelty is available for use indefinitely in two users.
2014: Issue
At the end of May 2014 , Ascon introduced a new solution for managing the project organization - Pilot-ICE (Industrial Civil Engineering). It is designed to organize collective work in the creation of design estimates, executive discipline management, corporate content management of the project organization, planning and project management.
In addition, the functionality of the solution covers the data analysis and interaction unit. In particular, it will allow you to conduct author supervision, interact with subcontractors and customers, conduct data analysis (Data Mining) and geometry searches, as well as combine distributed project teams when working with freelancers in design.
Pilot-ICE is focused mainly on small organizations. Its main target users at ASCON are project institutes, bureaus, workshops and design departments of industrial enterprises.
Already existing in the product line ASCON"" analogue of Pilot-ICE, intended mainly for medium and larger design organizations, the developers call the solution, the Pilot:PGS price of which for one workplace is within 20-25 thousand rubles.
The company's representatives outlined the estimated date for the start of sales of the new solution in the fall of 2014. The Pilot-ICE price will previously be in the range of 15 thousand rubles. The cost of deploying this solution will also be lower compared to Pilot:PGS due to the fact that it also reduces infrastructure requirements: the enterprise does not need to buy DBMS and requires less powerful hardware to use it.
At a lower price, Pilot-ICE also has slightly less functionality compared to Pilot:PGS, and using a new solution when storing and searching for information is no more difficult than Windows Explorer, the developers say.
ASCON CEO Maxim Bogdanov explained to TAdviser that the segment of small design organizations is mostly not prepared for long-term implementations of information systems, and such companies want to purchase tools that can be implemented as simply as possible and out of the box. He added that for the specified price, the solution includes the functionality that the customer can independently deploy and cope with its development.
The difference between Pilot:PGS and Pilot-ICE exists not only at the level of functionality and price, but also sales schemes: the first of them is sold only through the ASCON Integration division and several franchisee partners on an exclusive basis, while Pilot-ICE will be available without restrictions through all channels.
Maxim Bogdanov told TAdviser that a sales channel was specially formed for Pilot-ICE at the beginning of summer, additional partners were involved, since the model of working with small and medium-sized design organizations differs from the model of working with large companies.
According to Maxim Nechiporenko, Marketing Director of Design ASCON System, in 2015-2016. ASCON also plans to release a version of Pilot-ICE Enterprise for large enterprises. Its declared preliminary cost is at around 30 thousand rubles.
