2019: Realme 5s

On November 20, 2019 it became known that the Realme company provided the budget Realme 5s smartphone aimed at the competition to Redmi Note 8 Pro. Monoblocks are similar externally and in a number of characteristics, however Realme 5s wins against Redmi as regards price relation and the given opportunities, claim in Realme.

As of November, 2019 Realme 5s is available in two configurations – from 64 and 128 GB of the internal memory worth $139 (8900 rub at the rate of the Central Bank for November 20, 2019) and $153 (9800 rub). Amount of RAM is equal in both cases to 4 GB. Coloring options three – red, blue and dark-violet.

As noted in CNews for comparison, Redmi Note 8 at the time of the announcement at the end of August, 2019 cost $140 (9000 rub) for the version from 4 GB of operational and 64 GB of the internal memory, and the complete set of 6-128 GB was estimated at $195 (12.5 thousand rub). All prices are relevant for the markets of India and China – Redmi Note 8, despite three months which passed from the moment of its premiere, did not go on sale in Russia yet. In India the beginning of sales of the smartphone is planned for November 29, 2019.

Actually, Realme 5s represents the improved version of the Realme 5 model. First of all Oppo "pumped over" smartphone cameras. If in original Realme 5 resolution of the main sensor was 12 MT, then in Realme 5s the 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 sensor with f/1.8 diaphragm is installed. The maximum permission of video recorded on this camera – 4K (Ultra HD, 3840x2160 pixels).

In total four sensors are a part of the back photomodule. In addition to the basic are included wide angle camera 8 MT with a viewing angle of 119 degrees and a diaphragm of f/2.25 in structure, the macro-camera on 2 MT (removes at distance 4 cm from an object) and the 2-megapixel sensor of depth (the ToF-camera for blur of a background). The frontal selfie module received a 13-megapixel array with f/2.0 diaphragm.

As a result at Oppo, according to CNews, something turned out between Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro. The last has more powerful processor and a set of the main cameras, at first sight identical with Realme 5s. A difference only that in Realme 5 Pro the 48-megapixel sensor is Sony IMX586 with the maximum diaphragm of f/1.79. Is of Realme 5 Pro much more expensive – from $195 to $240 at the order from China.

The list of characteristics of Realme 5s includes first of all the 11-nanometer Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor with a frequency up to 2 GHz on eight cores and the built-in video card Adreno 610. The screen of the smartphone is the IPS panel with diagonal 6.5 inches, an aspect ratio 20:9 and notch under the front camera. Its permission is 1600х720 pixels (HD+), and on top the strengthened Gorilla Glass 3 glass is applied on it.

Realme 5s works from the accumulator with a capacity of 5000 mAh against 4500 mAh for Redmi Note 8 with charging on microUSB 2.0. Fast recharge is not necessary to it – at most 10 W (5B, 2 A).

Realme 5s is delivered with two slots under SIM- cards, a separate tray under microSD up to 256 GB, LTE- the modem and receivers GPS GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou. The regular firmware Android of 9 Pie is complemented with a corporate cover of Color OS.

The smartphone has a separate input under earphones and the protection against splashes declared the producer. At the back of its body there is a fingerprint scanner, and modules Wi-fi 802.11ac (ranges of 2.4 and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 5 disappear inside. The Realme 5s sizes were 164х76х9 mm weighing 198 grams.^[1]
