2018: The doll of Barbie will teach children to programming

At the end of June, 2018 sales of a new line of dolls of Robotics Engineer Barbie which, as envisioned by developers, will be able to train children in programming essentials began. The American corporation Mattel which is releasing world famous dolls started this series in cooperation with Tynker company to attract interest in the sphere of high technologies of girls and to involve in programming. The new doll fashionably puts on, wears goggles for work at the computer and also has the notebook and the small model of the robot.

Six free lessons of coding which go complete with a new doll of Barbie are already available to downloading in a special application. Lessons are focused on beginners - children of younger age - and should teach girls to solve problems on logic and to teach coding bases. According to statistical data, women take only 26% of jobs in the field of the computer equipment and make only 19% among the received degree of the bachelor of information science and programming.

The CEO of Tynker Krishna Vedati noted that the mission of the company – to give to youth chance independently to build the world in which they should live and work, and the Barbie brand – an ideal method to show to girls using an amusing game that they can work in the field of science, technologies and the equipment too. Mattel works in this direction for a long time: on the account of the company of a doll programmers, the developers of video games, paleontologists and even astronauts mastering Mars. Besides, before the International Women's Day the company provided a new series of dolls which image is based on outstanding women.

Within the new program of Mattel she also intends to support seminars on robotics, to promote development of new lessons of coding of Tynker and to publish special books on coding for children.[1]
