2022: Delivery of the first batch of Serp-VS systems to the fuel and energy complex facilities

The Roselectronics holding of Rostec State Corporation has completed the delivery of the first batch of Serp-VS drone suppression systems to the fuel and energy complex facilities. The equipment is designed to combat small drones, can work autonomously at a remote position and protect both mobile and stationary objects. The unification of several such systems allows organizing the protection of long infrastructure, representatives of Roselectronics reported on December 22, 2022.

According to them, Sickle-VS is able to suppress the drone control channel, break communication with the operator, disable navigation equipment, disorient the drone in space and disrupt the flight mission. The system neutralizes GPS, GLONASS, Beidou signals (in the L1, L2, L5 ranges), and also breaks the control of drones over Wi-Fi.

"We see the risks associated with the growing use of drones in both the military and civilian spheres. The facilities of the fuel and energy complex belong to the critical infrastructure of our country. The development of Roselectronics allows you to increase their safety by electronically influencing drones from various manufacturers, "said Oleg Yevtushenko, executive director of Rostec.

The device can provide protection from drones of both stationary and mobile objects. The power consumption of the transmitter is 150 W, and the range is up to 3 km. "Sickle-Sun" "sees" UAV-violator in the sector from -10 to 80 degrees vertically and 360 degrees horizontally. Communication with your own control point is carried out over the Ethernet network.

As part of Roselectronics, the development, supply and installation of systems is carried out by the Vector Research Institute.

"The development of unmanned aerial vehicles has led to the fact that small amateur drones have become actively used for industrial espionage and sabotage at critical infrastructure facilities. At a height of several tens of meters, such a device is invisible to the eye, it cannot be shot down. Therefore, electronic warfare tools, primarily focused on working with small aircraft, are the only effective countermeasures, "said Andrei Sorokin, Deputy General Director for Business Development at Vector Research Institute.

2018: Presentation of the Sickle System

Holding "Roselectronics" of the state corporation Rostec presented in August 2018 a system of electronic suppression of small unmanned aerial vehicles "SERP."

The SERP system in combination with a passive coherent locator (PKL) provides automatic tracking and suppression of on-board drone equipment at a distance of up to 20 km.

Unlike classical radar systems, PKL does not have an active transmitter and uses a field created by TV and FM radio transmission centers. Working in complex with the PKL, the SERP system can disable small-sized drones flying at extremely low altitudes in conditions of dense urban development.

At the same time, the device can provide protection against drones of both stationary and mobile objects. The output power of the transmitter is 10 W, and the range is up to 20 km. The integration of several SERP systems into a single complex makes it possible to ensure the protection of large-scale facilities, such as stadiums, power plants, strategic facilities, territories of large enterprises, government and military institutions.

"The development of unmanned aerial vehicles has led to the fact that drones have become actively used not only for military purposes, but also in civilians, for example, for industrial espionage or surveillance. Moreover, even amateur drones from the store, created artisanally, can be dangerous. At an altitude of several tens of meters, a small drone becomes invisible, it is almost impossible to shoot it down from small arms. In this case, only electronic warfare technology is an effective means of counteraction, "said Sergey Abramov, industrial director of the arms cluster of the state corporation Rostec
.

"SERP" is able to suppress the drone control channel, break communication with the operator, disable navigation equipment, disorient the drone in space and disrupt the flight mission. The system suppresses GPS and GLONASS, GSM900 and WiFi signals.

The electronic gun and locator were developed by specialists from the Vector Research Institute.
