2024: Plan to start production of soil-climatic station for agronomists

In the Stavropol Territory, the production of a soil and climatic station for agronomists will be launched. This was announced by the Stavropol State Agrarian University, StGAU on March 26, 2024.

The software and hardware complex will allow you to remotely track the state of agricultural land in autonomous mode.

Scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, together with an industrial partner, Teplok, began to work on the creation of domestic soil and climatic stations.

The development will allow collecting data on the soil and climatic state of farmland and remotely transmitting information to the workplace or smartphone of the agronomist. In particular, the device will be able to track soil moisture, its temperature and salinity, as well as a number of other parameters in real time. At the same time, the station will operate on solar panels. Autonomous power supply will allow you to deploy devices at almost any point in the site and monitor important indicators for agronomists around the clock.

Scientists plan to equip the soil and climate station with three types of sensors that allow the device to be submerged to a depth of 60, 90 and 120 cm, which will provide the most complete analysis of agroclimatic characteristics.

This is another clear example when the scientific development of our scientists turns into a real product that is in demand by business. In the near future, the devices will be launched into mass production, where they will be able to mix imported analogues, - said the rector of StGAU Vladimir Sitnikov.
