TraceAir is a multifunctional cloud GIS service for solving problems of monitoring, management and control of work on construction sites, mining facilities, when planning and developing cities.

2021: Ability to control quality and cost of construction

On December 8, 2021, the company TraceAir announced that it had updated the functionality of the cloud service to control the quality and cost of construction: now it is possible to track the movement of equipment on the construction site, the movement archive and statistics for each unit.

Traceair Platform: Tracking Equipment - Travel History

The updated construction equipment tracking system is a tool for improving construction efficiency, developed on the basis of customer requests TraceAir and analysis of work cases on large construction sites. The tracking system helps minimize downtime and develop mechanisms for its rational use. This solves one of the rather complex tasks and ultimately reduces the cost and time of construction, increasing the financial benefit of all participants in the process: both customers and contractors. The system is built into the platform, easy to use and turned on with one button.

Now platform users can monitor in real time each bulldozer, excavator, dump truck and minibus on the site, see how many hours each unit of equipment worked and what trajectory it moved. You can filter the equipment by contractor, by type, and by registration number.

Technology motion analysis can be used for different tasks. Two tools that simplify work at times deserve special attention. First, tracking machinery at any point in time in the past. A calendar has been added to the system functionality, which allows you to switch to any date in the archive, and the time scale allows you to select a time segment within the included date. Thanks to this tool, the client always has the opportunity to more effectively plan future work and solve possible conflicts.

The second tool is the ability to record violations for each unit of equipment. Violations relate mainly to the speed of movement of equipment on the site. Exceeding the speed of movement entails the likelihood of accidents and increased wear and tear of temporary roads.

"It took the TraceAir team a month and a half to develop and debug the tracking system, but before that we conducted a large survey of our customers to find out how they would be comfortable following the equipment and what tools in the tracking system they would like to see. We are confident that our customers will use the tracking system of construction equipment and appreciate its features - the productivity of construction work will increase, "-

says Arthur Khasiyatullin, CEO TraceAir in Russia.

The basis of the system is GPS sensors installed on each unit of equipment. The data from the sensors are transmitted to a special server, and the server transmits them to the platform, where you can see the paths and current location of the machines on the site, they are combined with the current orthofotoplane. The delay between the actual location of the machine and its display on the orthophotoplane is no more than 15-20 seconds.

For the operation of the tracking service, Internet communication is needed, as well as in general for the platform.

2016: Features and composition of the service TraceAir

According to the information for April 2016, the solution includes geo-associated orthophotoplanes, 3D models, point clouds to fully support construction processes, from pre-design and control of the construction plan, to visualization of finished objects for customers.

Regularly updated data obtained through the service can be used in Autodesk - Infraworks, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Revit, Recap programs within BIM. The survey of the earth's surface is carried out from autonomous UAVs, this significantly reduces the time to receive data and improves their quality.

Conventional methods for obtaining such information require one to two weeks to collect and process. In the future, it is simply forwarded to the cloud in the.las format. The TraceAir solution allows you to obtain data within several hours - their relevance remains.

Visualization of the site against the background of the surrounding area (2015)
  • A dense point cloud from the TraceAir solution lets you build surfaces in AutoCAD Civil 3D. The newly constructed model can be used as a source of quantitative characteristics:
  • elevation elevations and soil volumes,
  • applicable as a visual display of the situation on the ground at the stage of preparation of general plans;
  • The TraceAir system allows you to export an overview 3D model of the terrain to InfraWorks 360 for visualization and visual display of existing infrastructure objects, the presence and type of vegetation, terrain features;
  • To compare the plan with the situation in the TraceAir system, the function of exporting a detailed point cloud to Revit is used. This allows you to identify and further eliminate infrastructure inconsistencies at a real or designed facility;
  • Point clouds from the TraceAir solution are exported to Navisworks to eliminate mismatches in object locations and monitor progress. This type of monitoring and verification enables early identification of conflicts between the components of the project and helps to resolve them quickly;
  • Use Autodesk TraceAir to classify the point cloud obtained by ReCap. The functionality of the program allows you to mark already installed large design elements at the moment. Using regularly updated data, you can immediately see the progress of work.
  • In addition to working directly on the TraceAir Web platform, data is also available in formats supported by Autodesk products, orthophotoplane WMS titles for Civil 3D, a detailed point cloud in the format of the OBJECT, PLY, XYZ, LAS for Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks or ReCap. You can export a 3D model in the formats of the following: OBJ, 3DS, PLY, DXF for Infraworks.

  • 1 XLIFFService: Error in XliffFile2XliffString method.
