2023: Battery creation for Lada e-Largus

The capital's developer and manufacturer of electronic solutions for vehicles helped create one of the main battery systems for the domestic electric car LADA e-Largus. This was announced on January 22, 2024 by the Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky.

The LADA e-Largus electric car, an experimental batch of which was launched into production in Izhevsk on December 15, consists of more than 50 percent of Russian components. It has a range of up to 390 kilometers.

Moscow industrialists produce high-tech products in demand in various industries. They participate in the implementation of large-scale, innovative and important projects for the country. Thus, the capital's manufacturer of electronic solutions for transport, Itelma Group of Companies, took part in the creation of batteries for the domestic electric car. The company's specialists have developed one of its most difficult parts - a power plant control system, - said Vladislav Ovchinsky.

The main work in the process of creating an electric power plant was carried out by the Autonomous Energy Systems (EPSS) company, which is part of the group of companies, in close cooperation with AvtoVAZ engineers. The batteries are equipped with a control and control system (BMS) of its own design and production, including software.

The peculiarity of a dual battery for a passenger electric car is that it can be located in the area where the gas tank was previously located, as well as in the engine compartment. Its energy consumption is 61 kilowatt-hours.

Two versions of batteries have been developed for vans: double with an energy of 61 kilowatt-hours and for a lightweight version of an electric truck - single with a capacity of 45.7 kilowatt-hours. These batteries are located at the rear of the car, which allowed the center of gravity to be lowered for the stability of the car, to fully maintain the useful volume of the cabin and trunk, and to increase the carrying capacity of the van.

LADA e-Largus became the first Russian electric car with a domestic battery of such deep localization. This is a new stage in the development of electric transport in Russia and an important step forward for our company and the entire automotive industry in the country. We plan to localize the last foreign cell - the battery cell in the next two years, - said Anton Mukhin, General Director of the Autonomous Energy System.
