2019: Start of the first industrial 5G zone
On January 27, 2020 PJSC MTS reported that together with Ericsson with assistance of the government of the Republic of Tatarstan unrolled the Russia's first industrial 5G zone of private network LTE at the KAMAZ plant to Naberezhnye Chelny, the large producer of heavy trucks in Russia. Technologies of a radio access of a 5G and LTE will promote optimization of production at the enterprise and to increase in its competitiveness.
Private (private) the wireless network intended for the solution of technology tasks integrates different elements of a production ecosystem of the enterprise in the closed circuit that ensures the increased safety and reliability. The private network of "KAMAZ" at the same time supports technologies 5G and LTE. At the first stage on network systems video surveillances and group communications, secure access to local information resources and VR/ AR- the solution for remote training of personnel are unrolled.
Aggregation of carrier frequencies allowed to reach required characteristics of network – during testing the maximum speed of data transmission in the LTE standard reached 46 Mbit/sec., in standard 5G – 870 Mbit/sec. Use of range of LTE 2100 MHz for transfer of signaling information of 5G network allowed to increase significantly a covering of the base station of a 5G in the range of 28 GHz.
The network is unrolled using the equipment of Ericsson, including the digital module Ericsson Baseband 5216 and the panel antenna 2100 MHz and also the portable radio module Ericsson Radio 2219 2100 MHz, the digital module Ericsson Baseband 6630 and the transceiver of Ericsson of AIR 5121 28000 MHz. During testing of data transfer rates the device from Sony supporting frequencies of millimetric range was used by a 5G. The client software of Qualcomm compatible to the server was installed on the device.
The MTS group already has experience of creation of Private LTE networks at the Russian enterprises. Start of the Russia's first private 5G network on "KAMAZ" – the first significant stage in our cooperation with "KAMAZ", the foundation for which it was laid in 2018. Based on private 5G network and LTE we are ready to implement different solutions in the field of industrial Internet of Things and automation of production processes on "KAMAZ" which will strengthen market positions of the Russian automotive industry, noted the vice president of MTS for cloud and digital solutions Dmitry Halin

Deployment of 5G networks is provided in the national program "Digital Economy of Russia" as an important component of economic growth of the country. Use of advanced technologies of a 5G and Private LTE helps to optimize production processes in all industries. Autoproduction is among world leaders in implementation of technologies 5G in the industrial purposes, and our experience shows that use of technologies 5G and LTE will help to make high-quality break in production at the KAMAZ plant, comments the president of Ericsson company in Russia Sebastian Tolstoy

our company is on ocherednos the development stage assuming use of the innovative solutions and creation of hi-tech products. KAMAZ conducts serious work in the field of digital production and development of pilotless automotive equipment. And in this difficult process very timely assistance of market leaders of information and communication and digital technologies is also demanded. Consolidation of efforts with partners, use of the advanced developments will allow to increase efficiency of our activity in implementation of these important for the company and the Russian automotive industry of the directions, |
2018: Agreement signature in the field of creation of communication networks for pilotless motor transport
In April, 2018 MTS, "KAMAZ" and Ericsson signed the agreement on cooperation in the field of creation of communication networks for pilotless motor transport, development and deployment of industrial Internet of Things and also industrial automation on "KAMAZ".
