In November 2025, a full-scale production of crossovers of the new Russian brand Tenet is carried out at the AGR Automotive Group plant in Kaluga. The process involves 332 industrial robots, which are mainly developed by Fanuc and Yaskawa.
The production capacity of the enterprise after modernization is 194 thousand cars per year when working in three shifts. In fact, the plant operates in two shifts, which corresponds to the current market conditions. According to the Avtostat agency, 8632 Tenet cars were sold in October 2024, which corresponds to fifth place in the rating of automobile brands.
The plant receives 150 shipping containers with components delivered from China by sea and rail every day. 600 thousand parts per day are involved in production.
According to the publication "Avito Auto," in the welding workshop the degree of automation reaches 90%. In addition to industrial robots, an additional 30 stations apply 51 m of adhesive joints to the body. The production uses two independent welding lines: for the T4/T7 models and for the large T8 crossover.
The painting shop is characterized by almost complete automation. 57 robots apply soil coating, paint and varnish. Technological process includes treatment of bodies in cataphoresis baths with full immersion through 360 degrees to fill all internal cavities. The thickness of the finish coating is 120-130 microns. In the final assembly shop, automation is 5%.
The level of localization of production remains limited. Company representatives report that glasses, fuel tanks, silencers, batteries, ESP directional stability systems, telematics equipment and ERA-GLONASS modules are produced in Russia. According to Avito Auto, stamping of body parts and the production of power units in Kaluga have not yet been launched.[1]
