2020: Delivery of PTV Visum and PTV Vissim

On March 26, 2020, it became known that SIMETRA, a competence center in the field of transport flow modeling and transport planning, delivered software complexes for transport macro and micro-modeling PTV Visum and PTV Vissim to the MBU "Center for Traffic Management" of Kemerovo.

{{quote 'author = said Vladimir Vilchikov, director of the "Center for Traffic Management" of the city of Kemerovo' Transport planning and modeling tools are mandatory for solving problems related to the development of transport systems. Therefore, we are interested in the emergence of such technologies in Kemerovo. PTV Visum and Vissim software solutions are optimally suitable for the data center transport tasks, with their help we will use the city transport model and develop measures for the optimal development of the city transport system. }}

The PTV Vissim solution is designed for micro-modeling: simulating the movement of cars and pedestrians on the scale of an intersection, given their behavior. PTV Vissim allows you to model networks with different types of nodes, assess the impact of intersections on capacity, and analyze capacity and transport regulation at complex interchange nodes, taking into account the movement of urban transport and pedestrians.

The software solution PTV Visum, operating at the macro level, will allow predicting traffic flows and, as part of the development of transport planning documents, assess the complex transport effect of the implementation of the proposed solutions: one-way road systems, roadway expansion, route introduction.

As part of the project in Kemerovo, SIMETRA not only provided the Traffic Management Center with software, but also trained employees of the Kemerovo data center to use it. Kristian Böttger, Director of Development at SIMETRA, Certified PTV Software Trainer, conducted a week-long training for the Center's specialists to work with the PTV Visum and PTV Vissim software complexes.

At this stage, Kemerovo is working to create centers for managing the transport situation, which should connect all types of transport for better and faster planning and management of the transport situation in the city. The correct use of the potential of modern PTV software systems will allow the Kemerovo data center to effectively solve the problems of planning and organizing traffic and be ready to implement forecasting and management systems of the transport system in real time.

MBU "Center for Traffic Management" of the city of Kemerovo is a municipal budgetary institution that is engaged in ensuring safe and comfortable road traffic in the city. The institution is designed to combine the data of Kemerovo transport in a single intelligent transport system, which will make it possible to implement for all interested parties an integrated approach to solving problems arising on the city's road network.
