2019: How to successfully complete the labeling experiment: LPO-All-Terrain Vehicle experience of switching to accounting for DataMatrix codes using Kleverens software

About Customer

The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the phrase "wellies" - as in childhood, carefree ran through puddles and dirt. But someone can easily decipher the abbreviations PVC, EVA TEI. These are all plastics from which waterproof shoes are made. You can't freeze in it even at a temperature of -60 °.

The LPO-All-Terrain Vehicle Injection Production Association produces men's, women's, children's shoes made of thermoplastic elastomer and ethylene vinyl acetate. And also engaged in the manufacture of personal protective equipment, special shoes and neoprene covers. Every year, LPO-All-Terrain Vehicle produces up to 500 thousand pairs of shoes from production lines. All products are sold in small or large wholesale, including through an online store, in Russia and in countries of near and far abroad.

Like most production companies, we have established all processes for accounting for raw materials and finished products through 1C: Integrated Automation 2.4. Basically, they used paper media: invoices, expense orders, acts. Everything was printed, signed, transferred to the accounting department for reporting and stored for several years,

Tasks

Today, labeling goods is no longer news. Companies learned to correctly apply DataMatrix codes, got acquainted with the rules for putting CM into circulation and learned all the nuances of interaction with the Honest SIGN system. However, in 2017, when the experiment on marking shoes was just beginning, many had to collect information almost bit by bit, since there were no clear requirements at that time.

File:Aquote1.png
We joined the shoe labeling experiment in 2018. But in addition to fully fulfilling the requirements of the law and building interaction with Honest Sign, we wanted to simplify our lives without large investments. Since we understood that with the introduction of DataMatrix codes, work will become an order of magnitude more complicated, and we will have to rebuild the algorithm for the operation of production and warehouse. Therefore, first they collected information on who and how enters the labeling. The bulk of companies looked towards the automation of business processes. Someone wrote their software and stumbled upon new difficulties, someone tried to embed labeling in the system that has been "in progress" for many years. We did not "reinvent the wheel" and drew attention to the decision from "Cloverens," which we had previously looked closely at,

Decision

Information about which products belong to which group and whether they need to be labeled can be found on the official website of Honest Sign. For example, waterproof shoes with a top and sole made of rubber or plastic with an inseparable (cast) sole belong to product group 6401 and are subject to mandatory labeling. This means that rubber boots, galoshes, bots, ski boots should also have identification marks in the form of a DataMatrix code on the packaging.

Since the summer of 2018, we took part in an experiment on the introduction of labeling: we were in touch with Honest Sign and 1C specialists almost daily. But there were a lot of mistakes at the start - we learned from our own mistakes. For example, initially the marking took into account only the size of the shoes as a characteristic. And we definitely had to take into account the color. And when we announced to the labeling system this need for production, this parameter was added to the characteristics. The whole of 2019, we adapted and rebuilt. And by the end of December, the readiness of production and warehouse to switch to a new work algorithm was 90%. Therefore, when they announced that the deadline for starting work with DataMatrix-AMI extended until July, we decided to close the remaining task - to label our huge remnants at that time - in a calm mode and without haste. At the time of the entry into force of the law on mandatory labeling, we were already 100% ready,

At first, the management of LPO-All-Terrain Vehicle considered Warehouse 15 to record labeled products, but this software product did not completely close the manufacturer's tasks. After some time, the Kleverens company presented a novelty - Warehouse 15 with Kirovka. It was he who was chosen to work.

File:Aquote1.png
Even before the introduction of mandatory labeling, we were looking for a solution for working with the product by series. And at the same time we met with "Cloverens." We have already implemented a barcoding system, but we worked with 2D terminals. And storekeepers worked out each launched series of products with shipping documentation. This made it possible to accurately determine the serial value of the ShK in the current month,

LPO-All-Terrain Vehicle employees use the Kleverens software at production and to record finished products at the warehouse. The company's management has so far abandoned the use of mobile computers to record raw materials, since the main pool of raw materials is bulk materials. All other components - fabric, laces - are measured in production during the process of making shoes by hand.

File:Aquote1.png
It took us about six months to connect Warehouse 15 with Kirovka and shipping documentation. But for setting up the entire accounting system and interacting with Honest Sign - about a year and a half due to the timing of the labeling experiment. It would be: they showed how to do, they did everything, and it works. So no! At first, "Honest Sign" voiced the requirements for processes. We weren't doing exactly right. Then they waited for the 1C specialists to connect and fix everything. But they were doing something wrong, too. We worked with programmers a lot and for a long time: not every of their proposals approached the specifics of our production. And together with the developers of "Cloverens" they set up a mobile version of "Kitty." Kleverens is one of the mastodons in the software market. Now we have established all the processes and we simply do not need half of the functionality. And although we produce large volumes of shoes every month, articles are only 90 pieces. Software closes all current needs,

told Viktor Vasilievich.

The update with the 1C database is configured at the LPO-All-Terrain Vehicle warehouse on demand via Wi-Fi. Such a mechanism was implemented so that it was possible to double-check the scanned products and, in the presence of errors, "roll back" the document. And if the storekeeper accidentally "spiked" twice the same code or, conversely, forgot to scan it, it is always possible to carry out double control.

Employees of the LPO-All-Terrain Vehicle warehouse use Honeywell ScanPal EDA50K mobile computers - 2 in production and 2 in the warehouse, and the Honeywell PC42t printer, which copes with printing 3000 labels in 5 minutes. When the marking comes out of production, it is scanned and a mark of creation is made. And after the finished product arrives at the warehouse, the storekeeper reads the DataMatrix code and notes that he has accepted. Also, entry into circulation is carried out during shipment - thus information on the movement of goods is transmitted.

File:Aquote1.png
Updates are the main drawback of the entire project: 1C will already launch the update, and Kleverens is still in the process. And since "1C: Accounting" is updated first of all, our configuration also falls "under distribution." But we cannot pass the reporting - everything flew off and does not work. The registers are already new, and "Warehouse 15 with Kirovka" is not yet available,

Results

How to optimize the work of employees and not spend all the money of the company? This question is asked by each owner at one moment or another. And when it becomes possible not only to simplify and speed up the implementation of all routine operations, but also to take the business to a new level, you can worry only about not doing it before.

File:Aquote1.png
With the introduction of Warehouse 15 with Kirovka and terminals, we were able to increase the accuracy of accounting by 3 times. A separate plus is that we managed to fulfill all the requirements of the legislation regarding the labeling of shoes. We also fully comply with the modern regulations for interaction with buyers: it is possible to create any document, find the necessary invoice, view the recipient's data and order picking, and restore labels. With 1C and Cloverens, production works like a watch,
