2021: Building an Intelligent Security System

On August 3, Hikvision announced that Hikvision's comprehensive intelligent solution for industrial facilities ensures the safety of the Pavlovsk oil and gas field production site (operator - Lukoil-Perm LLC ). The solution includes radar for the protection of the perimeter and the territory of the object, rotary cameras with smart analytics on board, including recognition of car numbers and analysis of the model and color of the vehicle, two-spectral thermal imagers for monitoring production processes at the booster pump station, ColorVu cameras for obtaining color images from the object around the clock, cameras of proper resolution with the function of face recognition. The integrator of the project was MTS.

Lukoil created an intelligent safety system at the Pavlovsk oil and gas field

According to the company, the Pavlovsk oil and gas field is located in the Chernushinsky district of the Perm Territory, was discovered in 1956. Booster pump station (CSN) is one of the key process units of the oil and gas collection system at the field and subsequent transportation of hydrocarbons. When pumping gas-liquid mixtures through the CSN, it is important to monitor the operability of all systems, and especially the operating temperature of the equipment and the well product itself, which passes through the CSN. Prior to the implementation of the project, the station lacked a safety system capable of solving all tasks in the complex at the technological facility, including not only protecting the perimeter and territory, but also monitoring the production processes for the transportation and pumping of oil and gas products produced at the Pavlovskoye field. The field itself is part of the program for the comprehensive digitalization of industrial facilities of the Perm Territory.

The basis of the security system on the CSN is Hikvision security radars, working in conjunction with PTZ cameras with a wide range of on-board analytics. If movement of people or vehicles is detected in the protected area, the radar transmits a signal to the PTZ camera, which automatically directs the lens in the indicated direction. This solution made it possible to optimize the composition of the security system and reduce the number of ordinary cameras on site, replacing them with two rotary cameras, which cover the entire territory of the CSN. PTZ devices are equipped with a janitor for cleaning lens glass, as well as IR lighting with a range of up to 400 meters for monitoring in the dark.

On board the cameras there is a built-in analytics, which performs all the main functions of security monitoring on the CSN. For example, the system captures objects left for more than 15 seconds in the field of view, maintains detection in the frame of up to 30 persons at the same time, performs recognition of car numbers, as well as models and colors of vehicles moving in the protected area. Rotary cameras also record sound events and support the entire set of basic functions for working with motion detection (intrusion into the area, exit from the area, crossing the line, etc.). With PTZ cameras, security operators can also create seamless panoramic images of the entire protected area.

A separate customer requirement was a paragraph about the classification of moving objects in order to reduce the number of false alarms that can be caused by animals or birds. This task is handled by security radars, which support such a function, responding only to the movement of people or transport.

Temperature control of all critical nodes of the CSN is carried out using Hikvision two-spectral thermal imagers, which in real time inform the system operator of a temperature threshold exceeding, which allows responding to potentially dangerous situations in time and preventing fires and explosions on the CSN. Thermal imaging monitoring is carried out in a two-spectral mode with the possibility of superimposing temperature indicators on an optical image for additional visual control.

The installation of thermal imagers at the facility made it possible to avoid the installation of additional temperature monitoring sensors at pump units. Thermal imagers with a long-focus lens at a distance determine the temperature of the engine and its operating mechanisms, send alarm notifications to the general system in case of overheating.

Additional security of CSN is provided by cameras with patented technology from Hikvision - ColorVu. Sensitive arrays and lens with F1.0 aperture collect 4 times more photons of light than conventional cameras, forming a color image in the dark or in low light conditions. With the help of cameras, system operators can monitor the safety of the object around the clock, fix abandoned items, additionally receiving information about the color of various image details, which can be important when further investigating events or incidents - for example, the color of the clothes of violators or the color of the car.

The security system of the Pavlovskoye field CSN is built on the HikCentral platform, which combines all devices and allows you to obtain information about the state of the object in the "one window" mode. The platform also performs customization and security infrastructure component management tasks.

The system is based on IP a video recorder Hikvision DeepinMind with a facial and vehicle recognition function, a false alarm filter. The CSN also has cameras with technology support Face Recognition for classifying people on the production site according to the "own/other person" criterion. An extensive library of images on the recorder allows you to work with a database of up to 100 thousand photos.

In any production chain, the highest priority for us is labor safety and compliance with labor discipline. And here digital technologies come to the rescue. Their implementation allows not only to optimize work processes, but also to protect employees of the enterprise, as well as minimize production risks.
