GVTs "Russian Railway" is responsible for information support of an operational company performance on main types of its activity. It performs operation of corporate IT systems, software and hardware complexes, a data network and engineering systems of Russian Railway and provides smooth functioning and development of information infrastructure and the engineering systems.

Tasks of the center also include ensuring maintenance and repair of computer aids, data networks, the engineering systems and constructions, collecting, processing, storage and issue of information to company management using computer aids and a data network.

In addition GVTs "Russian Railway" renders information services on a contractual basis by orders of third parties and individuals.

With transition of Russian Railway to holding model of work of GVTs it was transformed to vertically integrated structure which integrated all computer centers which were earlier submitting to the railroads. Consolidation of information resources in the DPCs organized in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg became a part of consolidation of all computer centers.

2017: Certificate of the Center of SAP expertize

The Russian Railway of the first among the railway companies of the CIS received the certificate of the Center of SAP expertize (Customer Center of Expertise) [1] for systematization of processes of IT support of SAP and ensuring stable work of a difficult IT landscape of the company.

Certification included check of four blocks. In addition to quality of information exchange, the analysis passed also the communication block. He allows Competence center of the Russian Railway to be aware of what happens in different branches of the company. Besides, for obtaining the certificate important that specialists of the Center provided the maximum use of standards of SAP and also stable operation of systems.

The analysis allowed to reveal and eliminate deviations in the course of maintenance of work of IT systems in the Russian Railway, to increase the processing speed and solutions of requests of clients that gave increase in satisfaction of end users – the staff of the company.

  1. the Center of examination of the client of SAP (TsEK) is created for centralization of tasks of business divisions and structures of IT, management of transactions of SAP and implementation of the innovative solutions in optimal volume and at high qualitative level. Effective TsEK cuts down the total costs of daily transactions of support and saves time in critical situations.
