2021: Medsi bought clinics in Bashkiria and Volgograd region from NMS

At the end of October 2021, the Federal Antimonopoly Service () FAS Russia approved a deal to sell the clinics Promeditsina (Bashkiria) and Dialain (Volgograd Region) to the group. Medsi These institutions were managed by the National Medical Network (NMS). The value and other parameters of the transaction are not disclosed.

It is known that interest in the regional network of clinics as part of the NMS was shown by the Mother and Child Group of Companies, the Medskan Group of Companies, Scandinavia, as well as non-core investors, including foreign ones. Among the potential buyers was the co-owner of one of the assets of the NMS - the founder of the Omsk Euromeda, entrepreneur Gennady Fridman. But he limited himself only to buying out his stake in Euromeda.

Medsi acquired clinics in Bashkiria and the Volgograd Region from NMS

The purchase of Promedicina and Dialaina will allow Medsi Group to significantly strengthen its position in the medical services market and significantly increase revenue. In parallel, Medsi will be able to strengthen its regional assets, traditionally inferior in scale and financial results to clinics in Moscow and the Moscow region. In Bashkiria, the holding has no points, in Volgograd - one polyclinic.

Managing partner of the consulting company DMGVladimir Geraskin believes that Medsi is buying up assets in order to reach annual revenues of 50 billion rubles and receive an estimate of market capitalization of 100 billion rubles as part of an IPO.

In April 2021, AFK Sistema announced plans to bring Medsi to the stock exchange, but did not name the timing of the listing. According to Geraskin, in the event of an active conclusion of transactions on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), the network of medical centers can place its securities on the stock exchange within two years (until the end of 2023).

Earlier, AFK Sistema reported that the corporation is considering the possibility of selling up to 20% of Medsi shares. Investors from Japan, China and Arab countries showed interest in the company.
