2019: Updating of design of the terminal

On April 24, 2019 the Ruselectronics company provided the ERA-GLONASS terminal in the updated design. Russian navigation and coherent the module can be used for the emergency notification in case of road accident, for monitoring of transportation of perishable products and medicines, for creation of robotic agricultural complexes and also for control of unauthorized deforestation.

According to the company, development of Research institute of the microelectronic Progress equipment provides acceptance of navigation information on 48 channels from GLONASS systems, GPS, Galileo. The equipment of Microelectronic Research Institute Progress is completely Russian development that allows to provide the high level of protection for the entrusted data exchange.

For the emergency reaction in case of road accident the terminal is installed on the vehicle and at accident automatically estimates the direction and force of blow, and then transfers information to the manager of an emergency service of JSC Glonass who can talk over on a public address system with the driver.

The equipment is capable to keep track of location of transport transporting perishable products and medicines, transferring navigation information to the telematic platform. The ERA-GLONASS terminal can become a part of the systems of digital agriculture, allowing to provide management and control of all agro-industrial infrastructure. Also the equipment can be used to prevention of unauthorized deforestation, signaling operators of the dispatching centers about entrance of the vehicle to a nature protection zone.

The ERA-GLONASS terminal allows to provide permanent monitoring and traceability of objects of digital infrastructure for security and rendering the emergency help practically in any spheres of life. For April, 2019 only in one automotive industry, by our estimates, in total about 6% of cars in Russia are equipped with ERA-GLONASS terminals. Thus, on roads of the country about 50 million vehicles which are not equipped with the system of the emergency reaction at accidents move. 2017: Obligation of ERA-GLONASS terminals for new cars in the territory of the countries of the Customs union

Since January 1, 2017 all new cars sold in the territory of the countries of the Customs union will be equipped without fail with ERA-GLONASS terminals. ERA-GLONASS is the state system of the emergency reaction at accidents and other incidents on roads. Implementation of ERA-GLONASS – an important step in development of traffic safety in Russia. Thanks to operational informing services of the emergency help it will be possible to reduce their time of reaction at accidents more than by 30% that will allow to save thousands of people annually.

2011: Completion of development of the automobile terminal

Russian Navigation Technologies (RNT) company announced in November, 2011 completion of development of the automobile terminal intended for application in the ERA-GLONASS project (the domestic system of the emergency reaction at accidents based on use of means of global satellite navigation of GLONASS and the systems of satellite monitoring of transport).

As the customer of this work JSC Navigation-Information Systems (JSC NIS) – operator of the ERA-GLONASS system acted. And results of the open tender held by the operator where six companies were recognized winners (including RNT) became the basis for signing of the contract.

A series of developmental samples of the new terminal is released. It is intended for testing in pilot zones (Moscow and the Moscow region, the Leningrad and Kaluga regions) and checks in the test laboratories of compliance of these devices to requirements imposed to terminals of the ERA-GLONASS system accredited in JSC NIS. First of all, they concern operation of the sensors generating information on a status of the CU as a result of road accident, use of a radio frequency spectrum, compatibility with (U) SIM chips and GSM/UMTS networks, resistance to mechanical influences. A number of requirements is connected with compatibility of the terminal with the eCall system – the European analog that is extremely important for the cargo, passenger and passenger transport plying between Russia and the European Union countries.

After confirmation of conformity of development of RNT to requirements of "ERA-GLONASS", the company will begin cooperation on this direction with automobile works, will be connected to participation in the corresponding tenders and also will start mass production of terminals.

Let's note that in new development of RNT not only all basic functions which any ERA-GLONASS terminal, but also a number of additional opportunities should support are implemented (for example, the built-in slot for the additional SIM card, radio clouds technology for wireless connection of sensors or original technology of nondestructive reading of data from the onboard CAN bus).

The ERA-GLONASS terminal created in RNT is founded on the innovation AT-10 platform mentioned by Zvorykinsky award of 2010 (in The Innovation Product nomination). The aircraft equipment GLONASSGPS of system / monitoring and control of transport "Autotracker" is based on this platform allowing to create easily specialized solutions for different categories of customers since the beginning of 2011. Respectively, this terminal of the ERA-GLONASS system is initially compatible to a complete line of sensors and executive elements. It allows owners of the CU on whom this terminal will be installed, with the minimum additional costs to connect cars to a monitoring system and it is essential to reduce transportation costs, to raise the security level and to get a number of other advantages important for public transport, the large companies, medium and small business.
