2020: Running the module on 100 racks
At the end of August, a data center Moscow module for 100 racks was launched in the -I building at 22/13 Ostapovsky Passage. This was announced on August 26, 2020 in the company "."Rostelecom-Data Center
The module with a total area of 500 square meters. m is located on the ground floor of the Moscow-I data center, but at the same time has independent engineering systems: cold supply, guaranteed and uninterrupted energy supply, fire fighting.
According to the reliability of the engineering infrastructure, the data center complies with the Tier III standard. This means that all pieces of engineering equipment and distribution routes (power cables, routes, pipelines) are reserved at least according to the N + 1 scheme.
"The module is already accepting the first clients. A joint team of RTK-Data Center and DataLine will serve its infrastructure, "said Pavel Kaplunov, Director General of Rostelecom - Data Processing Centers. "Right next door to the facility, the construction of the data center for 2000 racks - Moscow-IV, which we will certify according to the Uptime Institute Tier IV. By the end of this year, we also plan to commission two more sites in Moscow, the data center in St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk." |
2012
Rostelecom began in early 2012 to create a data center on the territory of the Sickle and Hammer plant in Moscow, [1] vice president of the operator Alexei Nashchekin told CNews. First of all, the capacities that the operator will install here will be used for the operation of the national cloud platform.
Until the completion of the work, the capacities for the O7 project (the name that the national platform received) operating in test mode are located on other sites. In addition to the seven data centers of macro-regional branches (MYFF, former interregional communications companies), which were included in the combined Rostelecom, the operator uses facilities in Moscow on Suschevsky Val and a reserve site in Noginsk. Also, according to Nashchekin, Rostelecom's capital servers work at M-9 and M-10 traffic exchange points.
"Now the new site is at the design stage," says Nashchekin. "The strategic consultant is directly the Uptime Institute, in which we will certify the Tier III project first, and then the finished site." The first halls of the data center will be put into industrial operation in the second half of 2013.
The area of machine halls will be about 10 thousand square meters. m. With a total building area of 11.5 square meters. m Design capacity, which will be allocated by the end of 2012 - 40 MW. "The possibility of creating a data center in a modular three-story design is being considered, which will reduce specific costs per square meter," Nashchekin added. More detailed about the site at Rostelecom is not told now.
Of the well-known Russian data centers, the Rostelecom project is the largest. Among the already ready-made large data centers, you can recall the Sberbank site, loudly opened in November 2011. The bank took 15 months and $1.2 billion to work in the Moscow South Port. In terms of numbers, the scale of the construction looks smaller than that conceived by Rostelecom. The total area of the Sberbank building in the southeast of the capital is about 16.5 thousand square meters. m, of which the area of machine halls accounts for 5 thousand square meters. m The energy consumption of the banking data center is about 25 MW. This platform serves primarily to centralize the resources of territorial banks.
We also note the Samara project "Megafon," the volume of investments in which amounted to more than 900 million rubles. On the territory of this data center with a total area of 6,912 square meters. m there are 6 car halls with an area of 400 square meters. m The supplied capacity is 8 MW.
