The data center is located in the Kalinin district of St. Petersburg between Zhukov and Chugunnaya streets. The facility has a total capacity of 800 stalls and a capacity of 7400 kW, covering an area of ​ ​ more than 4 thousand square meters. m

To create the data center, its own building was designed and built that meets the requirements of the Tier III standard. As stated in Rostelecom, specialized engineering infrastructure provides high-quality energy and cold supply to the data center premises. All elements of infrastructure systems are reserved, power inputs and telecommunication routes pass by independent routes to ensure uninterrupted operation of equipment and communication with the network.

The data center will house the most sensitive data that requires a special security regime, as well as those that need to be quickly moved to another place, processed and returned back (or made a hot backup, like electronic document management systems). Backups in case of system failure, as explained by the vice-governor of the city Stanislav Kazarin, will be located on external resources.

Rostelecom said that the new data center will form a cluster in the northwestern region, where Rostelecom-data center competencies will be concentrated in the following areas: telecom, data transfer, cloud services and the operation of data centers. By the end of May 2021, about 50 highly qualified engineers are employed here, and many new jobs will be created in the near future.

Starting the cloud DataLine

The DataLine cloud in St. Petersburg restarted at another Rostelecom-Data Center site at ul. Zhukova, 43.
